I love that cute little green bugger though. Who doesn't? How could you?!
I didn't mind the long cameo and am not opposed to a Boba Fett show. It's more that the Boba Fett show has broken continuity due to the frequent, long flashbacks. Not sure the bounty hunter turned gang boss works either.
I was confused and had to make sure on the last two episodes: yep, it does say it's Boba Fett :

I'm really enjoying 1883. Way better than Yellowstone.

Ditto re the former. I couldn't even get past the first episode of the latter, still haven't bothered to watch it.

All shows' pilot episodes NEED to be exciting, get you hooked - if they fail in that, why bother? 1883's does that. Unfortunately, it tapers off quite a bit in later episodes but still worth watching though.

There's enough action in it for me. I just wish they would hurry up and get over the brazos. And Billy Bob Thornton's little cameo was absolutely bad ass!

I don't know if it's better, IMHO, it is different. A much slower moving show, don't get me wrong we are really enjoying it.

I completely agree. Was really looking forward to this storyline, but I find it just falls flat. To your point, Mandalorian is far better.

Man... I'm happy that AMAZON is following NETFLIX lead with releasing all episodes in a season at once!
Jack Reacher is off to a enjoyable start.

I watched the whole Reacher S1 yesterday. IMO it's exactly like the books in the sense that it's good but not great and if you have nothing else to watch you can be sure if you watch Reacher you won't be disappointed but won't be thrilled either. 6 out of 10 I give it. This counterfit thing might have been a novelty when that book came out but now that there are multiple seasons of Good Girls about the same thing, it just has no wow factor whatsoever.

We also finished S1 last night but don’t watch good girls so can’t really comment on that. The plot of the season was the plot of the first book. Wouldn’t really make sense to change it and I’d expect future seasons (which will hopefully happen) will have different plots based on other books. But yeah if you thought the books were mediocre I doubt the series will change your mind.

The wow factor was the way they were able to replicate the book’s character, which was executed about as well as possible (again assuming someone enjoyed the books). Compared to something like Jack Ryan, for example, IMO Reacher was much better and 1000x better than the Reacher movies that were just awful. So I’d say at least 7 and probably more like 8 out of 10 for me.

I agree this actor is a much better fit for the role than Tom Criuse but I never imagined Reacher as a body-builder - not a gym person. If you look at the actor's hands when he walks, it's as if he is holding dumbells.
I enjoyed the show overall. I have read most of the books. The last one, The Sentinel, was interesting with Reacher getting involved in the more contemporary cyber crimes.

As someone who:
  1. Finished watching S1
  2. Didn't see the movie(s?)
  3. Didn't read the books

The character is more believable for the role than Cruise.

The show wasnt bad, but not great. It started off good but trailed to just okay.

Suspending belief because it's a show (e.g. his level of engagement/cooperation w/ the police), I think my main issues were the Venezuelans were barely there (as in what was the point) and how some adversaries fared so well against Reacher in CQC. And where was Clark Kent through all of it?!

I finished Breaking Bad yesterday so I watched El Camino, the Breaking Bad movie today. What a waste. That’s 2 hours of my life I’ll never get back.

Reacher on Amazon Prime is great! Dude fits the role well and Ella Fitzergald is just that perfect girl next door.

Finished the first season of Reacher. Started great but the last couple episodes were a bit of a drop off. Still a pretty solid season.

We just finished Reacher also. It was a pretty good adaptation from the book series IMO. In other words plenty of people getting beat, plenty of opportunity to skip entire paragraphs of filler, topped with a dollop of sexual tension. It's possible to go to the kitchen and refill the beer mug without losing the story thread. We'll watch the next season, like we watched all of the Bosch seasons.
