Despite the recent snow, the white trilliums are beginning to bloom in the woods

Wild, windy day here. I almost got knocked over by a huge gust. Tomorrow and Wednesday are supposed to be calmer, but still warm. Mid-50s and lower 60s. Good riding weather.

The old threads over there
Cabin above Lake Isabella got 6 FEET of snow. In 30+ years it’s never had that much

We have a temperate climate here in the Pacific Northwest USA, so this winter crap is getting real old. Snow day after day -- admittedly light snow and doesn't amount to much. The temps are running right about freezing so we get some melting on asphalt, etc. Today I had a medical appointment in Salem, Oregon (25 miles west) and about a mile from my house the snow was almost gone; downtown it was like what snow? The tradeoff for living in the foothills of the Cascade mountain range. Come on, spring!

After a few inches of snow yesterday and we've been a few degrees above freezing all day.

Calling for another 8 to 12 inches for Saturday, we'll see.

Honestly thinking about calling off work Friday. We have a winter storm watch (as of today). 6-10 inches (maybe more) of heavy wet snow. A wind gust of 45 MPH. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions are most likely to impact the afternoon and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible Friday afternoon with a narrow zone that will allow snow to accumulate on most road surfaces. Additionally, the heavy, wet nature of snow combined with the strong winds will lead to a potential for scattered power outages where the heaviest snow falls.

*No precautions F it. But, I don't get paid by the hour nor a big salary to bust my ass at work for 12 hours and not have a soul walk into the dealership (I get paid commission. So, if I don't sell a car, I make nothing). I don't think anyone is coming in to buy a car with a snow storm cracking.

I guess it's too early to retire the shovels... There's a big system approaching. But we might have a snow day tomorrow and a long week-end.

Frost was on the pumpkin this morning.

Screw it, I'm not coming to work tomorrow

See how easy that was?? OK, it's a compressed work day off already, but I'm still not coming.

Soccer opening night tomorrow got canceled, fields are un-playable due to recent rains. We still have snow on local mountains, but its melting fast.

55 right now.

Look at wundermap. California just had a blizzard (where I am), and now Texas has a massive record heat wave with some places over 100f (37.7c) up to 105f (40c) at the start of March 😳😳
