Watched “Elvis” the movie. Was pretty enjoyable. On par with Bohemian Rhapsody and better than the Elton John one.

I can't think of any except maybe, "I am Legend" and maaaaayyybbeee "Bladerunner 2049"……but I don't even know if either would be qualified as a remake though. Maybe as a hive mind we can find a remake that was as good as, or better than, the original film.

Hmmm! Now I'll have to watch the 1932 version.

The 1960 Magnificent Seven - a remake of Seven Samurai. Also remade again in 2016 with Denzel Washington.

The Departed - a remake of Infernal Affairs.

True Grit

The Fly

3:10 to Yuma

Edit: I did not see Seven Samurai or Infernal Affairs so I can't say the remakes were as good or better, but I did like the remakes. Saw the others and their remakes - the remakes were as good or better imo.

I doubt it's gonna top Pacino's since most of us saw Al's first and I can't help but think there's gonna be a bunch of gangsters running around speaking like James Cagney, so I can't take it srsly

I can vouch that Hollywood's version is better, even though I saw the HK film first. They changed some things around to make some characters more believable.

300 was a remake, believe it or not. The original was decent. I think it was called The 300 Spartans.

Cape Fear was made in to an excellent remake. With Robert De Nero. He was creepy in that. Robert Mitchum played the creepy guy in the original, and he had a small part in the remake.

The Thing with Kurt Russell was an awesome movie.

It was so good I thought our theatre had smell-o-vision when DeNiro was doing that jail workout scene, was thinking where the heck was that stench coming from??

Ya, you guys mentioned some great remakes.

Speaking of Mummy remakes, I liked the one with Tom Cruise, though I don't think it was received too well. I thought Sofia Boutella was convincing as the female mummy. Also liked Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde.

This is weird as didn't I just post another trailer about something similar? Did the studios get together and say we're all gonna make the same movie?

Over 2 nights, I've gotten about 2/3 thru Ichi the Killer. I keep expecting it to do something other than bleed all over my screen. Probably finish it up tonight.

Was looking online at the Cape Fear remake and it not only had Robert Mitchum from the original, but it had Gregory Peck and Martin Balsam from the original as well.

Was old home week.
