Wonder how much LEC had to give to the racing gods to get this win…we knew what came after he won Monaco…heheh

Great turn around for Ferrari, congrats to Lec. Good strat, they actually didn't f*ck anything up.

Looking forward to the Lec/Ham battle next year. Does the old man still have it? Russ is clearly the quicker driver right now at Merc, leading Quali 12-4 against Lewis.

Ideal for Max's WDC having Lando finish 3rd. Only a 7 point swing, when it was looking like a guaranteed double digit points swing. Monza likely being where RB was most vulnerable.

Lando needs average 7 points over Max per race and win 6 of last 8 races to break a tie. DNF's by either driver will change the chances dramatically.

Red Bull managing their driver pairing to ensure minimal conflict between their #1 and #2, but this is clearly going to cost them the constructors championship.

However good Max is, pretty obvious that all his teammates have been meh. I wonder if he'll ever drive alongside a wdc caliber teammate. Rb19 was super dominant, but also the carryover beneficiary of the cost cap violation from the prior year. This is the first year we're seeing the impact of the penalties associated with that and rb is underwhelming in a big way. I'm sure Newey not steering development is also a big contributor.

Lando underperformed, but mclaren continue to show they've got a lot to learn before contending for titles aside from having built a fast car. I imagine Oscar will be firm #1 next year.

Ferrari strategy definitely improved vs last year. Hopefully they can continue to develop their car.

Mercedes should be concerned about George's performance comes race day. He only seems to do well if on the ideal strategy or if he lucks into a better position.

Will be interesting to see if Lewis gets his qualifications MOJO back. I think Ferrari pressure /motivation should do him good in thus regard. Glad to see his race form has come back to life, regardless of qualifications position.

you started it with your 'translation'...
if you'd used the same words....nothing would've happened, but you couldn't resist putting words in someone's mouth....

but whatever. this is all silly off-topic since 12-12-2021

Lando needs to do something about his start ASAP (!)
He just f@cks his start up. Again and again ...
I think he's just too reckless .

At Zandvoort in the start he lost his P1 position to MAX in the much slower midfield RB20..
And the McLaren papaya race strategy s@cks too.

I think Lando is just not hard core enough. He's too nice.
Oscar on the other hand, he doesn't give a sh!t about Lando's possible WDC title.
Look at today. They were allowed to race 'papaya rules'. Oscar slides by him in the chicane, Lando almost hits him, but also thus exiting the chicane so badly that LEC overtakes him.
That was a pretty aggressive move with consequences.
I think Lando woudn't have made the same move, certainly not if PIA would've been the one in a fight for the WDC.

Lando's biggest competitor is himself.

And I wonder if he gets the proper coaching from Zac Brown for that matter.
He displays too much Bottas traits. (but with BOT his role was at least clear. 2nd driver above all)

they could have swapped Lando to 2nd to give him more points, taking away 2nd place means nothing, Oscar still on the podium, i mean they already gave away Oscar's P1, what's another place right

Yes - although there’s some questionable decision making going on at McLaren, I do appreciate that they’re not yet handing it all to Lando on a plate. Oscar drove the better race today and has shown he can be really fearless in the car. He doesn’t seem as quick as Lando over an optimal lap, but he seems the more consistent of the pair right now. Interesting situation for the team.

Maybe, but if Oscar didn't make that move (don't get me wrong, a great move if it isn't on your teammate), I think Lando could've won and Oscar 2nd, holding off LEC.

I mean, in Hungary they told Lando this:
Quote:
five laps to go...
The way to win a championship is with the team.
You're going to need Oscar.
You're going to need the team
when exactly is this wisdom going to happen?

Back then I said that was a mistake. And today I'm saying it again.
Lando still has a chance on the WDC, but absolutely nothing can happen now...
I mean, what if he has a really bad day. Imho Lando could've had 17 points more right now.

For sure PIA is the more aggressive racer. So if McLaren is still just as good next year, my money is on PIA, not NOR.
The WDC is up for grabs, which is really rare, and they're just not grabbing it. Even Max says the WDC it's not gonna happen for him if McLaren play their cards right...

Agree with all of this. PIA vs NOR could be the lifeline for VER. I’m curious where Zak Brown’s head is at - I’m guessing he’s not sure which driver is his #1 yet, so it makes some sense to let this play out a little more so long as it doesn’t jeopardize the WCC.
