I think you are correct if we have a solid lead the bears will bench the starters, but then again its lovie smith
Either way it works out, we will likely have likely beat them once no matter what. That said, I would love our starters to have a easy sunday, then 2 weeks of rest.

The fact that it is the pack should be taken out of the equation. Practice to win, wait for the ATL/CAR outcome. If ATL wins...play hard but not stupid (ie no 7 step drops), if game gets out of hand either way, put the subs in. If ATL loses, you gotta play to win.

The Bears can do whatever they want, it doesn't matter. The Packers will still beat them either way. They are the superior team at this point.

The bears actually have played pretty well in gb under lovie...will be a good game definitely. I agree to keep Aaron Rogers out of the playoffs is in the bears best interest

I would actually be more concerned about playing against that defense in the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers is a valid concern though, that's for sure....

Mark, because on paper its true. GB was my SB pick at the beginning of this year. Despite the most injuries in the league they are right on the cusp. They have a better defense and arguably one of the best QB's in the game.

I say win this game if it matters towards the 1 slot. Otherwise, getting to the superbowl is more important than 1 win against GB. We wouldn't see them again until the NFC championship game anyway.

look this season with this team...every playoff team should scare the crap out of you. On any given game each of the playoff teams could put an embarassing whooping on the bears. On the other hand, on any given day the bears could grind one out against any team in the NFC.

Its all crap anyway because the Bears don't beat any of the AFC playoff teams on a nuetral field. Getting to the superbowl is like kissing Seth.

That is scary because if you're comparing them favorably to the Chicago defense, that's not like comparing them favorably to the University of Michigan defense. The Bears have a great D for the most part, but Green Bay's is downright scary, especially considering the injuries they've been fighting through. I believe they're top 5 against the pass but only top 20 against the run. Sounds pretty meh until you consider the fact that they're 2nd in scoring defense and they have some ridiculous playmakers out there. They have linebackers and a secondary who can make tackles. Every. Time. They have a QB who, while maybe the gheyest phag this side of Tom Brady, is very smart and selective.

They are still my pick for the Super Bowl although the injuries have decimated their defensive line. Chicago could be up there too, if their damn offensive line doesn't take a dump on the field but you never know with those guys....

Special teams is another factor. Hester is a beast and very often it's the return guys who make key plays in the playoffs. He's a great Ace in the hole to have.

Normally, at least in my non-meatball fan mentality, beating Green Bay is only important in that it goes a long way towards winning the division which secures a playoff spot, which is the only way to get to the superbowl and thus the only way to win it. Beating GB for the sake of beating GB is baloney. I don't care about GB not getting into the playoffs other than they may be the best team out there, but NO is looking really scary right now too as they are getting healthy at the right time. If GB doesn't get in, another team equally capable of beating us does get in, and that's my point. It all hinges on Carolina (eeps).

I agree. I think they're getting way too quick to throw a flag. When the player's already got their momentum going and then he obviously tries to shift so he leads with his shoulder...how the hell is that roughing the passer?

Pussification of America. Ugh.

i just replayed the roughing call. I think its the last push with his left shoulder that got him the flag. He had one step to see the ball released. Had he hit him without the extra emphasis I think he would have been ok.
