I think I'm on to something that involves running wires through the dash, instead of to the rear fuse box. If it works, I'll get a guide up.

That dash cam seems good on paper. Should be here this week or so. Will let you know how it goes.

Ooh. That'd be good. Running wires to the back blows. Look forward to the review.

Shots fired!

We will continue this tomorrow. I need to try to get some sleep so I can hit the road before all the RNC traffic takes over the city during this week.

Yes. Running wires through the cabin and the associated BS sucks. There are enough hot, switched wires to find appropriate ones in the cabin.

Guy offered me an '09 Dodge Ram as a trade for my '07 335. Truck is worth ~$5k more than my car. Hmmm.... I don't like trucks, but everything is for sale for the right price. :strokeschin:

Most of my roadie friends race pretty regularly. I don't have the conditioning or leg stamina yet to run 120k and have any effective sprint at the end.

After i get back from Montana in a few weeks i'm going to start strength training and adding in some more calories to my diet to try and put on a few pounds of muscle.

This is the first year i've followed any part of Le Tour, it's pretty interesting. Much more strategy than i ever assumed.
That sounds already serious , it's good to drive with your roadie friends because they can share their knowledge with you

Yeah the strength training is good to get more power in the legs, but for me I did the strength training in the gym only in off bike season in winter...
Because strenght training while biking is too much for our muscles , they need recuperation .
The last 9 years I'm working out (gym) and still after all those years leg-day is no joke .
Muscle pain is our legs is not funny because we need to walk and work on our legs and so the recuperation of our legs takes more time ..
The 4 years that I drove in competition I had a good sports masseur ,and that was really necessary , and stretching was also required !
I did actually too much sports over the years and for the moment I have some serious trouble with my left knee caused by too heavy squats ect..
If you plan to strength your legs ...Watch out with your lower back as well !

Do it, then just turn around and sell the truck. If you need a truck, get a small ranger or something if you're not really gonna tow anything and just need a bed.

Trucks are nice, but I hear they have large gas tanks and shitty MPG's.

Yeah, that's the plan. Plus it's a lot easier to sell a 4x4 truck in Michigan than a turbo RWD BMW.

They work really well with a tow rope and someone on a snowboard behind during the winter though... urban wakeboarding at it's finest.

It's a riot. Just don't do it with a sled since you can't control direction, or stop for that matter. Bad news bears.

I haven't started riding with them yet because they are all really fast. I've got a little ways to go before i can hang on to their wheels. Two of these guys were on the Cuban national race team. As they were the best they had, Cuba sent them here to race under their flag and they defected. Two brothers. The others are just random fast guys. Ex-racers, coaches, etc...

I don't have a "winter" for strength training. lol Florida..... We can ride all year long here, so there are lots of fast people here.

I have a good sports masseuse as well and it is very helpful. I also plan to cut back the rides from 4 a week to 3 a week, thus reducing distance from ~290km to ~170km One of those 3 rides will be recovery pace as well.

Something along the lines of... Tuesday leg day. Thursday 1.5 hour 40km recovery ride. Saturday 3 hour 80km fun ride with intervals. Sunday 1.5 hour 50km threshold ride.

Keep in mind i'm not looking to go crazy with strength training. I'm going to be doing a lot of odd stuff on strength days to also target those intrinsic joint supporting muscles as well. I'm a firm believer that strength training staves off injury.

Yeah...right lol ,here in Belgium we can only dream about the Florida weather, here is Belgium is biking also fighting against the elements of the weather..and that really s@cks in Belgium!
Back in time my feet and hands were almost frozen and started to look blue..
in February-march , I will never forget some of those races..

These 2 guys from the Cuban national race team have knowledge enough , that's for sure ..and that's perfect for you as well .
My contacts with the roads (few times on the ground) I will also never forget !
