BMW could have been in the same position if they hadn't turned a blind eye to their auto enthusiast customer base and lost their way. Just sayin'

You are 100% accurate. All groups tend to do this though. Goth people, skaters/surfers, etc. Just an odd observation of mine throughout the years.

I always kinda chuckle when I see a bunch of old men dressed up in jeans, black leather boots and leather jackets adorning HD. I always want to tell them, I think it's cute when couples dress alike. Basically the picture below, for a bunch of old "tough" guys.

We all have costumes of one kind or another. Sometimes our costumes are even our fancy cars. Maybe that's why many people think BMW drivers are ass hats!
I'm not trying to take anyone's good time away. I just find it difficult to be intimidated by "scary" bikers who are just old, loud, all dress the same and look as if they just walked out of The Blue Oyster.

This! They put all their eggs in the only basket they had. Younger generations don't want loud obnoxious bikes to draw attention to themselves. First they'd have to know how to operate a motorcycle, there isn't enough time to contemplate your gender all day AND learn something, second, they'd have to step out of the crying closet long enough to gain physical strength to hold the bike upright. Maybe HD can start marketing to toddlers, they're scarier than any biker I've ever met.

Yep. Why they're doing "fun" stuff like partnering with Kith. BMW wasn't known for catering to the elderly like Caddy and Lexus though

Daytona bike week brings thousands of bikers of all kinds (people and bikes), and many cruise up A-1-A past our house. I really enjoy them; they’re typically polite and respectful while having a great time with their buddies. I love the sound of a Harley like I love the sound of a big American V8, and a high-revving Ferrari. There are plenty of bikes that are louder than the Harleys, and that’s with their radios off! But it is fun to see them all, different brands, color schemes, outfits. Even the trikes (Slingshots and sidecars) are just out having a great time.

I think it is wonderful when someone can enjoy their hobby, even if it isn’t my hobby too.

I appreciate your candor sir. I love an opposing opinion when done in a positive way. Well done sir. I too love high HP revving engines, an excellent exhaust note and a gathering of close friends or even like-minded enthusiasts.

Now, with my crassness of my previous post(s)....I know way more about HD's than I wish I did. I'm also a former graph writer and tattoo artist so I can appreciate the artwork and customization on some of the bikes. Your post has made me reconsider my opinion and stance on the matter. Thank you.

The only time I ride in a group, is when I'm invited by the local Chapters of the Blue Knights®, a Law Enforcement motorcycle club.

I'm the only Beemer in a sea of Harley's, Indians, Victories etc... Of course, they tease the shit out of me for having an exhaust that sounds like little baby farts. Love it!

It is hard to ride in a group by yourself.

I'm only playing with you Jane. It's just a joke. Laugh and smile with me now.

I believe I posted these pics before taken at the Fundy Park Trail.

Anyway, as you can see, Cops like big V-Twins. Except for one who rides a V-Strom but his wife, a nurse, rides a Low Rider. Go figure...

I'll bet they are not teasing you in the least. Maybe just a little bit jealous instead.

Now, every time I hear a baby fart I'm going to think of you.

My family used to own our winter place in Daytona, and I spent many a February there as Bike Week was happening. With a few exceptions, the attendees were cool. I could hear every traffic light on US-1 turning green for miles at all hours of the night though, as the loud bikes started accelerating from their stops. Almost as loud as when the NASCAR Cup race was in town.

I also live close enough to those bike-building clowns at OCC where I can practically poach the wifi from their old OCC Store, and for years they did the TV show test rides of their open-header custom bikes back-and-forth on the state road at the end of my dead end street. Their store and shops were huge draws to V-twin riders, and let me just say that our town is a lot quieter now that their 15 minutes of fame has ended and OCC is closed and now the Tampa area's headache. (Paul Junior is still here AFAIK, but his shop does not seem to draw the biker crowd like OCC did.)

Unfortunately, my Anniversario is still on life support pending surgery, so too fill the gap I picked up the S1KRRR back in August.

I don't get to ride as much as I would like this year. after 2 months of owning the BMW, I'm still just under 5 hundred miles.

Historically as of this season, I would have doubled that

Yeah you always had good taste in two and four wheels.

Here's to a speedy recovery for the Duc (that's how I remember you as, lol) and still, your second pick up is sexy AF.

My bad on calling you out on the strips. I didn't see the red so I thought I was safe.
Plus, she's new, gotta get the wax off the rubber first anyways, lol

I knew you would understand! I appreciate you, brother.

I'm not embarrassed about the chicken strips on the Bimmer. I'll scrub those down over the next couple months before the first snow.

Now, back to some lols!!

@lady Jane never disappoints so I'm sure she'll get things back on track.
