The sidewalls are very soft and can fail on heavier, high HP cars. A buddy of mine on the M6 board paid the price for this, 'savings'.

Not familiar with the Nitto's but I do know that the best way to seriously improve the overall performance of your call is to get a great set of tires.

Cheers and thanks for your input-mk
It's a Z4M so it's not very heavy. Never had any issues with the V12 although I'm sure my driving abilities will end way before the tires. I do like the Nittos better though.

I knew my next car would probably be a C6 I've just been waiting for prices to drop. Then I learned about the new gen6 camaro and I was sold on that. Could pick up a new one for less than a used 1LT C6. Been looking for the right one since around Dec and finally picked it up a couple weeks ago.

I'm one of the people who would have never even considered the car because of the shitty interiors but they have really taken it up to a whole new level with the gen6. There is only one piece of "cheap" plastic that I can see on the whole car and although I'm not a huge fan of the giant dual hump instrument cluster it's a small price to pay IMO for an otherwise great car.

Looks great! The interior is a real step up. Please post your driving impressions when you get a chance.

What's crazy is, I had my windows down driving at about 40 mph (rural country hwy) and I heard it puncture. It sounded like if you were to pop a balloon How many people can say they've actually heard their tire be punctured by a nail, screw, or bolt? Hardly anyone. You only know you've hit something when you see your TPMS light go off and then stop to inspect. I actually heard it and within 5 seconds my TPMS went off and I could hear the air hissing out like if you were to let air out of a balloon thats how loud it was. I knew I was fucked and I was on a draw bridge at the time that was going up. So I had to stop. No shoulders no where to pull over. Thank you SOS button and thank you God this happened on my way to pick up my daughter and not when I had my child in the car. That would have been a ROUGH two hours waiting for a tow truck if she was with me.
Sweety , thanks for the update ..And your are right about what happend ..and yes some situations really suck !
Saw also ...It was not really cheap , but finally with 2 new rears you're good to hit the road again .

Just look for one used tire. No point in getting brand new unless all four corners. Or make sure they give back the non punctured one so you can sell or keep around just in case.

These were the original tires that came with this car. 32,000 miles on a Bridgestone Potenza run flats. I stretched those babies to the max. Zero thread was left. It was time for new rubber. I've been redlining all the way home.

If you live in a place with great roads, then it's fine. It's really shitty everywhere else.

After 32k miles you're numb to how harsh a ride run flats deliver. Especially a pair with little to no tread.

Nice roads, no issue.

Did you switch to non-RF or get replacement RF?

Yes, nice roads, no issue. Spent 6 years on run flats (e91), and we have some awful roads around here. Big mistake.

I could not live with the 18" RFT on the E82 so swapped them for normal tires very shortly after the car was bought

I can't stand them. When the wife got her DD mini we swapped out the run flats within the first month. Huge difference in comfort and performance. Especially on a light car like that.
