We're experiencing one of the heaviest rain storms I've ever seen here. We now have flood alerts: Stay home, many roads are flooded. My weather station has recorded 5 inches of rain since midnight and it's still raining, plus more in the forecast.

Some of the local rivers are reaching "monitoring" levels, some concern that they could crest their banks. It's been a LONG time since I saw the Santa Clara running bank to bank.

My house we've gotten about 1.75" since it started last night, and we're supposedly about 1/2 way thru this band.

Wed/Thu should be dry then we get some more. We are getting very close to a normal yearly amount

Freezing drizzle this morning. Coated the car in a sheet of ice but somehow the roads were OK. Must've salted them early this morning.

Burnt the candle at both ends at the clinic today since we are closing the clinic tomorrow on account of the storm. The schools will likely be closed so our staff members with kids won't have to scramble for sitters and we don't want them on the road.
