How long ago did you seed the lawn?

I would definitely cut way back on watering, as you have done. The IFAS PDF you posted indicated that 3-4 weeks after seeding the lawn should be established and you should only need to water on an as-needed basis. They provide this link on watering: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/lh025

I didn't read the whole PDF so maybe this is different for Bermuda, but I have always avoided fertilizing an area that has a fungus or other disease until that issue is solved. I would get a bag of fungus or disease control made for Bermuda and apply it to the area and limit watering to see if it responds. If it doesn't respond to the treatment and reduced watering in a couple of weeks (or gets worse) then more research is needed to figure out exactly what it is and how to combat it.

I found some tiny avocados on my tree. For a while I was bummed we were going to have a low yield year, but I was looking at the tree today and saw a bunch of these little guys. So it looks like we are going to have about a thousand. lol
Also found a humming bird nest. Appears to be empty so far.

Pics of dogs just because.

I think it's fungus honestly. Can I dry it out? I'm not adding anymore to the grass. I've put down Vigoro Mixed grass mix AND Bio-advanced 3-1 weed and feed. Neither are supposed to harm grass. More than likely its a combination of overwatering and the recent rainfall we had.
if you can take pictures that would help! brown spots could be a lot of things from grub worms, fungus, dollar spots, ect...

as far as watering your lawn only needs 1" of water per week. I don't turn on my sprinklers until summer and I usually watch the weather for that week and base my watering on that. but than again you do have new seeds so they do have to keep moist all day but not soaking wet or drowning

EDIT: reading more of your post below sounds like it's been a few months since you seeded so I would say you're way past the germination period lol. if you could get those pictures up but i'm thinking fungus because of all that water you're doing. like I mentioned 1" water per week. you can divide that to 2 waterings of a 1/2" each. use the tuna can method to determine how long it takes to fill that can 1/2"

I would love to have an avocado tree as the wifey and I always eat avocados! but our HOA doesn't allow us to have any fruit trees or grow garden beds

I always assumed an avocado tree wouldn't survive in the midwest. If they do...I'll have to keep that from the wife. She'd love one, too.

this neighborhood lots sits on at least a 1/2+ with open backyards. even with split rail fencing you can see everything. why they don't allow...I don't know LOL!

so looking at your pictures i'm gonna have to say you have a fungus issue. try picking some stuff up at your local box store and cut down on the watering

Granted I overseeded on my St. Augustine. People say it's too time consuming to switch the yard over, but I've been cutting the yard at 1.25 inches now for about 4 months. The st. Augustine is in fact thinning out and dying off as the Bermuda I applied is beginning to take over.

I don't have anything special as far as yard equipment goes. Push mower, weed eater, edger, blower. Just your basic lawn care tools.

And if anyone is wondering, I'm doing better. It's rough, and it sucks, but I have to keep myself together.
I made the mistake of cutting too low. Let the grass grow taller (3") to choke out the weeds.

I’d agree with 3-4 inches in many other types of grass, but the link that knowthebattle posted (as well as looking at the golf course out back) indicate that Bermuda is cut much shorter.

For me 4" for tall fescue to help smother weeds out. Plus taller heights give better lawn stripes

We use a service to mow the lawn, etc. and they tend to cut the grass short - it's also fescue I believe.

Yea I was thinking of trying to cut it higher, but bermuda thrives at .5-1.5". I just think I overwatered after the grass was grown.

Now if the rain would give me a day lol

For common Bermuda, 1-2" is ideal (studies show up to 2.5" in some cases is okay), but if you have hybrid varieties then you'll want to go lower 0.5"-1.5".

I'm between 1.5-2" and trying to have the best lawn in the neighborhood!

All of my research is for my area so your area could be a bit different even with the same grass. Cheers!
