Theres a lot of controversy on the terms "Kobe" and "Wagyu", and they get thrown around to make the suggestion of quality on a given product, which isn't always the case.

Now, if you source some Japanese Wagyu from the Miyazaki region of Japan, thats something to write home about. But thats also somewhere around $300/lb.

Also, I'm not questioning the quality of the steak that KenB925 purchased, I'm sure it was amazing non-the-less
I paid $300 for 200 grams of Wagyu in Tokyo. Best steak I’ve ever had.

One of these days I'll be able to experience that first hand. Haven't had a chance to make it to Japan yet.

I could not recommend Japan more highly.

This is not the place I went, but similar. Look at the care used to make your food. Pure art.

The Japanese people are freaking incredible and it's a privilege to visit.

So were just back from New Orleans. My wife loves to cook and is really good. She has come back inspired which usually happens when we travel. Tonight is Spicy Red Bean and rice. Looking forward to it. She does a killer gumbo too.

order from Omaha Steaks came in. it was pretty good but I don't think I would ever pay out of pocket for these steaks. We were given $100 gift cards from our Union so along with the wife's we had $200 to use. super super tender I did not need to tenderize it. all I did was use Applewood rub and olive oil

Of course! Me, my wife, and 17-year-old twin boys. Unfortunately, they all say they don't like my New Orleans style barbecue shrimp. Huge letdown. It's very very tasty.
