During lap 10, when VER overtook SAI, lots of friction sparks and metal debris sparked from scratching curbs. Looked to me straightaway like an "uh-oh" moment. OK, floor plates get often a beating, but this time it looked more significant. Would not come as a surprise that VER damaged the floor plate during that maneuver. Lap 12 VER's car was already 'limping'. Would be interesting to see his lap times of laps 10-11-12.

George squeezed Gasly as Pierre was already tracking to the outside. It also looks like Russell looked in the mirror before doing it.

I'd say this is much closer to an incident than what Lewis did to Max last year which was unforgivable IMO, especially with his celebrations after but Russell needs to be penalized for this - it was reckless.

Don't know the lap times , but after the floor damage Horner said that MAX was suddenly 1/1.5 sec. slower .

It's a race start with lots of nervous maneuvers to fight for position. They all know that. IMHO GAS was a little too ambitious with his attempt to wrestle his way between ZHO and RUS. GAS got sandwiched, triggering accidents.

I would have liked RUS to finish this race. The race pace of HAM and his W13 showed that also RUS could have fought for podium.

SAI could've slowed down extremely at the pit entry. HAM was behind him.
So LEC could have gone in first (at max speed), and SAI could have given the ferrari team lots of time by blocking HAM.
That would have resulted in still keeping the LEC-SAI-HAM order.

But those ferrari strategists are just not awake
It's nice to think that they want to give SAI his first win etc etc, but really only WDC counts and with that Ferrari/LEC lost big time (another 13 points lost....)
LEC could have been 2nd in the WDC....
It's as if Ferrari wants Max to win the 2022 WDC... (which is obviously fine with me , I'm both a SAI and VEr fan )

With Max having damage to his car things certainly were very close. On very smooth tracks at least MERC seems to get things sorted out. But I doubt they have things sorted when we're on more bumpy tracks again..

Wow. What a race! Just snuck away from the beach to watch the highlights. Only 3PM here in S.C. Holy cow has Merc and HAM found some hidden speed due to secret tech or what?

Checo is the Driver of the Day for his stellar drive from last to second getting his own back passing Lec who barged past him earlier causing damage and made him pit for new aero and tyres and for passing for Hamilton.

Just read that the piece of carbon debris came from the collision between Gasly and Tsunoda .

It was that piece of debris who damaged MAX's floor ..

The Dutch article => https://www.gpblog.com/nl/nieuws/114...on-rijden.html

After the race MAX looked under the floor , the floor was gone ...

It was a stupid collision also that should never happen between teammates.

SAI drove a fantastic race especially after the restart. Other than going wide on that one corner where VER took the lead, SAI drove everything out of The F1-75. That victory was well earned.

This is the first time all season where Mercedes look like they had a proper car. We will have to see what happens in the next races to see if the setup was just good for Silverstone or if they finally got their car where it needs to be. The PU looks good, seems like they need to just tweak the aero.

But overall, fantastic race. Glad that Zhou was able to walk away from that horrific accident.

Lec lost out when Ferrari didn't want to double stack and risk losing an almost guaranteed win. Sainz's deep voice also towered over Lec's pleading 'what do I do now' and Sainz after 150 races can count his lucky stars that Max had a damaged floor and kudos to Sainz for that win.

Once the SC was on, Carlos could’ve just slowed, Lewis can’t pass under the SC, make an 8 second gap to Charles and the double stack would’ve been easy. Terrible communication from the team

An investigation happened and as always… never a penalty for Red Bull. I think it was lap 46… he also did a similar thing to Hamilton too. Perez should have been 3rd, Hamilton 2nd.

Max in the last lap, deliberately ran MSC off the track and he went off 10ft deep to run him out so far just to retain his point. Also noted or investigated and as ways, Red Bull gets away with it again. Max should have dropped to 8th.

RBs can do what ever they want, rules don’t apply to them with the stewards. They are dirty at their race craft… both amazing drivers, and it’s completely unnecessary as they could win on their own… but Horners dirty driving and dirty tactics covered by solid steward payoffs leave a bad light on the sport… no one else acts like RBs. They cheat because they can and empowered to do so…not because they actually need to.

Just my opinion, others I get love RB. I’m more neutral and it’s so obvious there’s a fix in F1 in RBs favor. They do no wrong and they could flip an F1 coin and it’ll land heads 90% of the time with their “luck”
