Hope it never happens, but mother fucker bring your shit if it does.
If we were allowed to c&c in Canada, I would 100% do it.

I never understood how not 1 victim in any of the mass shootings in the US was carrying a gun to defend themselves.

Most workplaces, schools, etc. are gun free zones. That's why these bastards choose them because they know they're easy targets. And while many people own guns in the US, I think only a very small percentage actually carry daily.

My pops is 77, grew up on a dairy farm in Iowa. Even after his triple bypass, I can't keep up with his manual labor. Never could before either. Oh, he's a lawyer these days, got off the farm early.

My instructor said something like 85% of CPL holders carry on a regular basis. Even though they are gun free zones, here at least, you can still have it in your car. I know that's a bit of a stretch if someone is inside, but it's a conflict of trying to retrieve it and return to try and save people, or just call it null and let law enforcement take over.

The whole don't be a hero thing is an odd concept. Part of me wants to think it'd be dumb to go back, but the other part says, there's helpless people being abandoned.

What's the 3-word phrase from the government these days? Run, hide, fight? Run to your car, hide in the front seat, but have your gun ready to fight if they emerge from the building and point at you.

I miss the simpler life of farming. My parents still own a working farm - I go home as often as a can.

I would say Run, Run, Run...Run to your car and get your HK45, Run back to shoot the people in the face who are shooting innocent people, then Run to the cooler and grab a beer, you are going to need it to calm the nerves after that crazy shit.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, has ever won a fight against me for the last beer.

That sucks. On my fathers side - a similar situation occurred with several of his siblings....

My parents quit claimed me the property many years ago - they have a life estate until they pass away. I have no plans to sell the property.

The tract has 20+ oak trees that are 150+ years old, and a 100 year old farm house that we have completely modernized / updated inside. Tin roof

Creek runs on the property and a new Equestrian center (200 million investment) is about 15 miles down the road....I'll probably spend half of my time there after I retire....

Reasons to date a farmer:
Body. Manual labor produces the finest things in life.

Reasons to marry a farmer:
Body.
Real understanding of the circle of life.
Body.
Life skills you can't buy.
You don't have to live in a city.
Body.
He will know his way around a rope.
I've never met a farmer who is a pussy.
Homegrown food.
Body.
Farmhands.

I grew up in the stables. Pulling hay bales by myself using a rope up into the hayloft. I still do muck stalls, sweep the aisle way, clean my own tack room, carry my own 50 lb feed bags from my car to the feed room, groom my own horses, pick their hooves myself, saddle my own horses, bathe my own horses, I deworm my own horses, vaccinate my own horses.

You were saying....

http://crimeresearch.org/wp-content/...ted-States.pdf

This says an identified 4.8% of the population has a conceal carry license, not including about 5 states. That's higher than I expected.

It is a serious dilemma. Logically, I know that if someone planned an attack like this, I'd very likely be outgunned. In that scenario, it only makes sense to wait for a team (police) until you gain the advantage. But if you start seeing friends getting mowed down, who knows what happens. It's animal instincts at that point.
