No, only in pix. Did you get a shot?

I am thinking of going up into the mountains to try to get a mountain bluebird, which has great blues, but none of the other colors of the Indigo.

i don't have a super-tele. but we have a few around this house that come to our feeders. my stepdad likes to watch them and has a little book, so he knew what it was - he should invest in some bird photo gear.

I've had some good results putting the 1.4x TC on my 1.6x crop-sensor camera with my 70-200mm f/4. If you've got the f/2.8, then you could use the 2.0x TC with most bodies. I've only got the 7D, but with a pro body you can AF with a 2x on an f/4 lens.

Anyway, getting up around 400mm effective focal length opens up lots of possibilities and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Wow, that amazes me, given your great skills. You might borrow a 70-200mm to see what you think. The IQ is amazing for a zoom lens and what distortion there is is easily corrected in LightRoom. (I use DxO instead of LR).

At the short end it's good for certain scenics, in the midrange it's a great portrait piece (including cars) and at the long end it's good for wildlife and things far away. Throw a 25mm Extension Tube on it and it's a great macro lens and throw a 1.4x TC on it and it's an even better macro lens.

The tripod/remote thing will certainly work well, just stop down enough to get good DOF.

oh, i've used them, don't get me wrong. just have no need for it. i sold a lot of lenses in the past couple of years because of the increase in video work and the lack of substantial photography-income.
i'm down to two prime lenses and rent any lenses i need for the jobs that pop up here and there. all i really need for myself is the d3 and the 50. wish i could justify the purchase of this Zeiss 35/1.4 that i have on rental right now. this thing is sweetness.

saw the indigo again this morning, but a smaller one. wonder how many of them are around here.

haha... nice Trevor. That tow-hook cover removal should increase your speed with all that weight reduction. I've also heard an M-badge gives you boost.

Yeah I noticed a increase of power instantaneously without the tow hook cover, I'm saving up for the m3 badge upgrade, I'm thinking of doing the 6 badge package (one on front, 4 one on each door, and one on the trunk) I heard thats a 35hp increase at the minimum.
