...you guys have nice space in many places across the US, Id go crazy if I had that much space to work with! here on li we don't have much space so the lawn gets tended by landscapers to keep it nice and sharp.

I concentrate on plants and trees in the front and raised beds and pots in the backyard. As we're just hitting spring here in the northeast I'll post some pix as things grow in during the next few weeks. I also enjoy water gardening and raising koi, its a never ending labor of luv.

Here's the current state of the pond, though will be further expanded by perhaps next season

I've done all the work through multiple phases and over many years and can finally sit back and enjoy

threw down my CarbonX, RGS and Humic12 today. Love how thick and lush the grass is getting and that's just with the first app in the beginning of April.

also picked up a swinging bench and some cushions and stands for those new containers. oh, it's always nice to have 5 State Troopers living in the neighborhood. makes us feel safe

I go out and pee on the spot AFTER her. No brown spots other than the piles (nope, not going there)

Man that is amazing! I'm jealous. Avacados are my favorite! I actually had a giant tree 8n my backyard growing up in So Cal. Unfortunately, growing one here in Texas is a no go.
But also, as ice read, planting a tree 9n your own anywhere is a difficult task: It takes on average under ideal conditions, 4-5 yrs to yield even one piece of fruit.
Did you pant this tree? If so details please and time frame?

Damn...worst part about that is knowing you gotta do it all over again at least twice a year :/

Any chance she'll let you just continue using stone all the way around up front (first pic) and then mulching what's left on the side (second pic)?

I'm still learning, we just moved here at the end of March. I've read that some types of trees only produce every other year. This is a large tree though. I'd estimate at least ten years.

I take no credit for the greenery, it's all the wife's work. I just keep the drip irrigation and all of the hardware running I've lost track of what and where everything is anymore, it started out as one garden 20 years ago and just kinda grew
looks great!

...here are my 2 tosai (1 year old koi) I added last year, they both survived their first northeast winter which bodes well for their chances to be really special when they mature...now if only I don't f*&^$# it up!

Ok here's what i've done so far. Thinking to add 2 or so more of these plants, (wheelers dwarf plants) and some mulch. I might put in some flowers to fill in, have to consult ...nothing fancy just clean it up

I live in the woods, and while it takes a lot of work to keep after it, it's a lot less work than a 1 acre garden and the deer, elk, moose, turkeys, bobcats and so on seem to enjoy it

That stone had a larger patch prior (probably twice the length)...but dirt gets in an it eventually turns to rocks with weeds.

I pulled all that stone out by hand...power washed all the mud...and that's all that was left when I put it back.

This was the worst part of it...

Gentlemen, I'm beginning to get brown spots. my new Bermuda grass that is coming in is now dying. It's a big brown patch in the front of my yard. I've stopped watering as often. Was watering like +4x a week. I know I know. I don't know what I'm doing. But I'm trying.

I think it's fungus honestly. Can I dry it out? I'm not adding anymore to the grass. I've put down Vigoro Mixed grass mix AND Bio-advanced 3-1 weed and feed. Neither are supposed to harm grass. More than likely its a combination of overwatering and the recent rainfall we had.

I would not add fertilizer to a lawn showing signs of fungus / disease. You can pick up some fungus or disease control granules at Home Depot and give them a try.

I’m not that familiar with Bermuda, but have seen the 2 yards in my neighborhood who switched to it have similar issues as you describe. Try looking online at the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) for articles about how to best care for Bermuda and address the problem you have.

For reference, I try to water once / week at most (and sometime none) during rainy season, once or twice when it is dry and mild and no more than 3x if we hit a patch where it is hot but not raining. 2 pins (I think 24 minutes) per zone.

my sprinkler is system is...well we've had to work on it.

It's got 5 different areas....

1 - 18 pop up sprinkler heads (small sprinklers) watering the front area between the sidewalk and street
2 - 4 pop sprinklers (large sprinklers)
3 - 6 large, 1 small sprinklers
4 - 2 large sprinklers watering the center and back portion of the yard
5 - 6 small in the front, 3 big in the back, 3 small in the back (gardens and side of the backyard

I know I've been watering too much. I was watering like 2x a day because I was trying to get seed to grow.

Just going to leave this IFAS PDF here
