Massachusetts just passed a law that now makes it illegal for us to wrap a rubber band around our hand and shoot it like a gun. Anyone caught will face various weapons charges as well as attempted murder and face min 20years in prison

One of the problems is that anyone with a lick of intelligence doesn't want to be president.
Seems the main requirement for running for president is an ego the size of Texas. I about became a firearm death statistic last night because i left the TV on a network channel after MNF. Almost had to shoot myself listening to 45 seconds snippets from their campaigns. I used to say that i'll vote for anyone who isn't a politician. But i'm not so sure about that these days. I do feel that we need a stronger front person than what we've had for the last 8 years. And history has shown that sometimes an unpopular person can be the right leader at the right time to get things done. I just don't know who that is.

I believe it's because it falls under the .22cal rule which was probably created with .22lr in mind. Just like someone posted above where Mass made anything over .50cal illegal making criminals of all the revolutionary war actors.
.223 will kill lots of animals. I've seen many a large pig drop dead instantly from a .223.

Ohio has goofy cartridge laws. For example, if you're hunting white tail deer it's gotta a straight-walled cartridge bigger than .38 cal and you can only have a max of 3 shots without reloading, but if you're just shooting at feral swine or coyote you can use whatever you want.

I doubt there is much of an issue as there once was.

Law aside wouldnt want to hunt with 223 anyways, the 3030 was good but i sold it for the 30-06. If a nice sized buck came rolling through wouldnt want to blast it in the head if didnt have to. However wpuld use the AR all day long on coons and coyotes. Theres about 5 coons that are eating all the corn at night wasting the corn, havent seen any during tge day or theyd get taken out with the crossbow at this point.

Cartridge technology has come a long way. Modern 9mm is on par with modern .40. Modern .223 beats the pants off of the stuff that was offered even 10 years ago. Possibly the best example of this is the .380 ACP HPs which hold their own as defensive cartridges today; 15 years ago I would have NEVER carried a .380 ACP. Still don't but it is a viable option nowadays. |

I don't think I'd go deer hunting with 223/556. Isn't the point of the heavier rounds (30-06, 7mm, etc.) that it won't shear as much if it encounters branches en route to the deer? Most people around here are hunting deer from a decent distance where I would think the 223/556 would under penetrate (miss key organs) and end up maiming the animal.

Went to the gun show in Vegas, and I buy a nice scope and I ask them if they are sure it would work on my AR and when I get home all I see is the front Iron sights in the scope lol..and it barely mounts. due to space. I am assuming Ill need some sort of a lifter or adapter to bring it higher?

Many optics need a riser rail to mount properly on an AR. Even if it fits without one you may have trouble getting your cheek down far enough for a proper sight picture. |

Anyone need a Safariland 6304-832-131? Fits a Glock 17 or 22 with a light. Currently in drop-leg format but the holster itself can be removed for a different carry system. Going for cheap.
