"Many times" ? That's inaccurate. Forum member ///M Power-Belgium is the one who frequently reminds this forum to Lauda's 2016 claim about Verstappen. What I do reference about Lauda when deemed appropriate for an ongoing debate, though: tidbits of his 2017 interview with Graham Bensinger (insightful first-hand info about himself and the intriguing F1 ecosystem - past and 2017 present, including his opinion on, and experiences with, Lewis Hamilton) (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...NtJ0u048nfUY-&).

Ergo, mistaken identity.

It's not up to me to determine whether you're a fool or not, valedictorian or academically challenged, stratospheric or down to earth, moral high ground or moral low ground, saint or sinner. A specific job status, gravitas or astuteness are no requirements to participate over here - everyone abiding the forum house rules is welcome over here. Who you and I are in real life, doesn't matter at all. Always keep in mind that this forum features people of all walks of life, different strokes for different folks. Most are native speakers and some ain't (for example Flemish is my mother tongue - English is a foreign language).

But do know that if comments turn toxic, I'll take action, no matter who you are, fool or no fool. You seem to be knowledgeable and to have strongly developed social values embedded (cf. pro equality and against racism), and I truly appreciate that. But not getting your facts straight and posting polarizing or vile comments reflecting a considerable to high degree of disdain for an F1 pilot and those who root for him, won't do you a favorable service to debunk a possible stultus consideration by some forum members about your "Marcoose" alter ego over here. Il n'y a que la vérité qui blesse. But maybe you couldn't care less.

In the past, you already let shine through that you've had first-hand personal experiences in the F1 world or race world. And that's perfectly OK - more power to you. But mind you, you're not the only one over here (some are more discreet). Words can be the crust of the meaning with realms underneath. But I digress.

Dan's glad he achieved something today from fans who follow him and with helping the sister team stem the McLaren threat in a significant way.

But he made it unscathed. A fully deserved win in challenging physical conditions. Piastri seemed to cope better with the sauna heat (did nowhere encounter a 'near miss').

I thought that Russell would crack when tailgated by Leclerc in the dying laps of the race. But he managed to stand his ground, finishing ahead of Leclerc - well done.

Red Bull doesn't mind showing how sleazy they are.
While McLaren has 2 cars and they have no idea who they're racing let alone help each other, instead they try to crash both cars into each other.

If they did their stuff properly (finishing 1-2 in races with the pace they have) Lando would be overtaking Max in the points already.

I agree with that . Lando's win is fully deserved and his Papaya car is bullet fast .

On the other hand : Is it really necessary to take such 'reckless actions with a 20 - 30 sec. lead in the race ?
I mean like brushing the wall (Twice)!
IMHO. Lando is just too reckless and has no sense of responsibility (!)
Lando is like , let's enjoy the moment and we'll see what's next . AKA Joy-Rider..
His Papaya car is more than fast enough but he doesn't have the right attitude/mindset to become a world champion and that's why he will lose it ..

Of course the WCC is for McLaren (already) because they have 2 drivers who can finish at the podium.

Brown and Stella fit that description. The missed opportunities of Hungary and Monza will be costly. The WDC will be decided by fewer than 10 points. And I reckon in Verstappen’s favour. It’s 4 against 1.

I think the Max factor is the fact that he went into the race with the 3rd or 4th fastest car and came in 2nd. It’s clear the McLaren drivers are all car because when their car was maybe 6th best, they were finishing at the back - now that they have a car that is fastest (the last 12 weekends) they have only a bunch of wins. Their skills certainly didn’t get any better in that time. If Max were driving the McLaren he’d have won 9 or 10 of those 12 races (maybe more) vs only 5 between the two McLaren drivers. Today was proof that even with a dominant car Nor nearly binned it multiple time and Pia isn’t consistent enough to beat a much slower car that Max was driving. Same for the MB and Ferraris. I mean Ham had a fantastic P3 start to P6 finish. LOL

i think he warmed a seat for 10 more years than he should have. some people have been kicked out after only a few months of under performance.

Kind of surprised this was such a bummer race, I guess so many races this year have me spoiled. That felt like a typical domination race by the one strong team we've seen over so many years.

just to clarify, nobody knows if this is Danny Ric's last race. Not DR, not Helmut Marko, heck even Vcarb boss says he doesn't know. Only Christian Horner knows.

Post-race conference:
  • Q: Given that progress today, Red Bull took another hit in the WCC, but do you still feel, Max, that it's realistic to win the WCC ? Or should you focus just on the WDC now ?
  • Verstappen: We focus on performance. If the car is quick, then, naturally, world championships are easier to get.

I don't see how Dan's treatment can be described as 'harsh' by the media, if Horner had said this would be his last race then CH would be pilloried anyway with their general resentment of the RBR boss.
Dan's been given every chance like Checo has so there is no question of any ruthlessness in the Milton Keynes organisation in fact it shows humanness on the side of Horner for keeping both of them on to give them every chance to improve.

In the case of Checo is just a money thing. Nothing to do with humanness.

Even with Checo's sponsor money input RB having the highest euro 5 M repair bills from his crashes just for this year alone has impacted badly on their allowed budget and his poor performance.

100% agree on his fully deserved win, to your point about the reckless action, I just think he might have been in the zone and couldn't pull himself out of the zone to 'ease off' slightly in my view.

Yeah . Lando's front wing was slightly damaged . This could have been a DNF for Lando ...

Great race from MAX too . Knowning Singapore is NOT (was never) a Red Bull track .

With the queer outcome of the RB 20 in its present state it may have just made it by default more competitive for this particular track.
