Saw this moron today at the local Kent (DIY Store). Not only is he parked in the driving lane but he pulled so far ahead that he is also blocking the intersecting lane. It's not like there weren't any spots he could fit into, plenty are visible in the photo and there were lots more. Oh, and he's also parked on the crosswalk.
He was coming out and saw me take the photo and asked what I was doing in a rather grumpy tone. I smiled and said "Congratulations, you're the latest member of the "Parking Lot Morons" thread on a forum I'm a member of." He was still cursing at me as I entered the store.

The second you try to bogart two parking stalls to protect your car some red neck clown in a rusted out F150 with dents on every panel will decide you need a lesson in parking lot etiquette.

I see a trend of people backing into spots lately...
Sure backup cameras and auto park features make this easier now but it is SLOW.

Does anyone else find it rude when someone drives past a spot and takes 3x the time to back into a spot in front of you and you have to just sit and wait for it?

I find it annoying and selfish to slow everyone else down to back in and make everyone else wait for the whole process....

Some of us have a talent and back in in one shot. I've been doing it long before backup cameras. I'm betting the same people that take three shots to back in, can't pull in straight either, which is why this thread was created.

I still find it slower and annoying especially when people turn on the turn signal after driving past the spot! And yes some do it well but not everyone can do it quickly or they rely on the car to do it for them (which is pretty slow in most cases).

I see that it is faster when leaving and perhaps safer but overall someone still has to back up at some point... It is more expected that people will back out so it creates less of a slowdown for everyone.

Is this something that is now suggested in driver training or something?

This guy needed 2 spaces but I managed to make it work. Man I hate inconsiderate drivers with big trucks. They should have an oversized section at the back of the lot, in every lot, that big vehicles must park in. It would benefit everyone since big vehicles often have big people that need a little exercise.

There is also some consideration involved. If someone is behind me, or pulling toward me, I will wait until they pass to make my move.
