I don't think either driver was doing anything "dangerous". Max was getting off racing line, because they had cars right behind them. An Alpine passed at full speed right after that screenshot. Landos tire hadn't fully deflated yet, so he was trying to get by without going into racing line. Lando also drove too quickly with a tire down and destroyed his car, something he said he regretted doing after the race.

Did he predict that Max would have a 7+sec lead going into final pitstop and then lose it all to left rear wheel issues?

Three things allowed Lando to catch up...5+sec lost in pits, Lando using track limits to close within DRS range, Austria having 3 DRS zones. (I believe Max was also on a used set of mediums.)

McLaren is coming, but overall RB(Max) still has some race pace on McLaren.

George told Sky before the race he will try to fight upto 3rd place and there is a possibility Lando and Max might crash while fighting for 1st

that is easily what McLaren should have at least planned to get Oscar to 3rd but again not sure what McLaren are doing

No one thought Max had enough pace to pull 7+ sec gap to Lando, especially after Sprint race. George was being optimistic Lando had pace to fight with Max. It took a rare mistake by RB team in pits instead.

Piastri had a deleted lap in quali. Otherwise he would have been up there.

Ham is doing what he has been doing. Riding this season out. Lol. He has zero fucks to give right now. He shows up, drives then goes home to his fairytale life. Kinda like 16 out of the 20 other drivers do. Lucky bastards Let’s be honest, 70% of the field shows up and know they are going to be lapped or 40 seconds behind. Other than a 10 car pile up, which never really happens, they are out there clicking off lame/boring ass laps. They should mandate 5 pit stops for everyone. Was fun seeing Max lose that time. Pit stops can definitely make the overall excitement of these races go up. But again, probably won’t happen.

It they wanted to spice things up, they would bring back refueling. Quali times would be set on different fuel amounts. Opens up a ton more tire/fuel strats. More chance of pit stops mishaps. When refueling left F1, so did a lot of drama.

IMHO . Dude you didn't watched the race ...
Today I watched this race 3 times . And the incident , I think 7 times ...

MAX pulled to the right side of the track , because backmarkers like OCON in his Alpine (car number 31) came by at 280 km/h at that moment !
None the less Lando made the wrong decision to overtake MAX on the grass !
BTW : I really like Lando and Charlie ...

But Lando's move was insane (!)

Hopefully this can turn into a true rivalry, it would be fantastic for F1. Max should lean into the bad guy role, Lando good guy. They both have very large fan bases. In my opinion the two most talented drivers on the grid at the moment. It is really up to McLaren to bring updates and provide Lando equipment to bring the fight. This could be something that evolves into something special over next few years.

I would also like to see points awarded all the way down to 20th. So even the lowliest teams would have more to fight for.
