Ok. I’ll shut up after this post. But how great was Ruth on F1 TV this weekend! Really enjoyed her insights. She’s clearly on the spectrum. Just like me. Takes one to admire one.

Lewis was a new man this weekend too. He did a chicken little. It was a new day.

And I’m saying this as an Aston tragic. He took both of our cars out in the sprint. Also I’ll admit our car was crap for this circuit. Really crap.

But I still thoroughly enjoyed this weekend. So much racing.
Max had a hole in his floor so that explains the delta in the last stint when Max was much faster before. Ultimately, Nor benefited massively from the SC and the fact that Max had damage. Not entirely on merit but a win is a win for him. Now another 110 races before he gets another one
I don't mind the sprint weekends because there is def more to watch before the race itself, but I preferred the locked down aprk ferme from Fri and let drivers deal with what they chose.

Anyone else appreciate the irony of a Max fan lamenting the race outcome because of "questionable calls on the SC"? Heck, then Max's first WDC wasn't won entirely "by merit" rather decided/awarded after incorrect SC use...LOL.

I forgot to mention that I'm glad Lando survived the victory celebration.

Having Zak Brown chasing me down for a bear hug would scare the heck out of me.

Yeah, it’s a bitch when stewarts and race directors reach above their stations, innit ? What’s the latest with Masi ? Has he found a job yet ?

If this was directed at me, not lamenting it, just saying there was a benefit as there always is...I think the floor damage was the real culprit of Max not being able to win because we've seen him race down much bigger gaps.
Ham's first WDC wasnt won on merit by any means whereas Max had a better all around season while doing it in a slower car. He backed into it when the FIA refused to invalidate a race where they knew cheating was going on.

The former is a new-to-me allegation. The latter is pure gold admission. I rest my case.

Red flag or safety car: what a difference a flag makes. Enjoy the read: https://www.racefans.net/2021/07/19/...om-retirement/

It's 2024. About time to move on, dfox.

Idgaf about the 2021 result. I'm neither a Max nor Hamilton cult member. I proudly own Norris and Perez gear, that's it. My point was that safety cars, red flags, etc. are part of the sport and it doesn't matter if Lando gained because of the safety car, that's all part of F1 strategy. It's why Piastri was told to calm down and stop putting himself or others in danger of crashing towards the end of the race. It's why everyone collectively gasped when Albon went off track.

So that’s that, innit ? By the seat-of-your-pants calls are easily overlooked. In time you’ll forget about it. Just ask Verstappen fans.

You've mistaken my post. I never said Max's wasnt on merit. In a slower car he had more wins, more podiums, more laps lead, etc. so it was on merit. I was saying, if you believe that than you'd need to admit Ham's wasnt either. That is not what I believe especially in the context of all drivers and team agreed to end in green racing conditions in the last race.

Nah. Zero confusion. Anyone with basic command of English knows that 'either' in that context applies to the unmentioned character in the story. Full stop.

What? I think you've got former and latter mixed up here but no, my response was in saying if you don't believe Max's was (which is was on merit) then Ham's wasn't either. Nothing more, nothing less.

Exactly. Verstappen's first title was not on merit. Thank you admitting that. (For that matter his second also carries an asterisk.)

LOL - I said the exact opposite. On the other hand every one Ham has "won" has a huge asterisk before and after it. You're free to feel how you'd like but does not align to my thinking on it.
