I know what I was saying was basic, but you'd be surprised at what some people on this board don't know (at least gathering from what people say from time to time).

Loking for opinions if this had ever happen to you?
Or do you belive this could really make that much (25x)?

Honestly I would be pleased with a 20% return on this market.
25x is a huge return bro. I sincerely doubt you will make that trading straight equities....unless you can lever up substantially. Might throw in some options here and there....that can help....but I'd say you'd have to catch a penny stock to make that kind of dough with 4K.

I think in these times, capital preservation is more important than appreciation. Obviously there is alot of money to be made when the market falls, but for the average retail investor who does not have the tools to engage in advanced and exotic derivatives to hedge their positions, making 25x return is a tough task. It can be done, and has been done, but these cases are few and far in between.

As frightful as it is to watch the markets these days, (DOW down almost 3% today, Eur crossed 1.20), there are always opportunities to invest and make some money. The trick is knowing when to pull the trigger. I personally like ETF's for the time being....and I use them to hedge my overall single name positions.

You always seem to give really bad advice.

I would personally say, given the fact you claimed you have inside info, it is not worth the risk.
Hence the first line, "if $4K is not a big deal to you." If he thinks he can make money, than he should do it. Thats what the stock market is all about. I know plenty of people where $4K isnt a big deal.

Dont see how thats bad advice

Inverse euro ETFs are nice right now, but be weary since the Euro may be hitting its low point soon. Or..it could go even lower.

Stock Market Thread

I thought it would be interesting to see how many people on here are into stocks and constantly do trades. I tried searching and couldn't find anything so forgive me if this is a repost. I also thought it would be helpful to list stocks that you think could be on the rise. I used to trade 2 years ago but stopped and would like to get back into it.

There are a few traders on here that I have been in contact with but would never expect anyone to offer up their trades for free.

Nice to hear. I guess that also means you're actually good at your job.

you didn't search, admit it. I hate when people say I've searched but didn't see anything. There are countless stock threads if you type in "stocks" into the search.

I think this thread would better be suited for the more inexperienced traders who would like advice from each other and give their insight on their research. I wouldn't expect any pros to come here and make us rich.

I actually did search. I typed in stocks and stock market and couldn't find anything on the first couple of pages. I hate when people post useless bs in threads.

anyone jump on the GM bandwagon? up 7% from initial IPO level.

I trade everday.....mostly in and out of ETF's (no restrictions/ holding periods). Got a nice little trading robot that dictates which sector spdrs to buy based on a few variables.
