He was my fathers dog and was 12.5 when he passed and I figured I'd just take him in for the 6-12 months he had left. Little did I know - he had other plans. LOL. The oldest personal dog I have ever had was 13 and I spend a pretty penny to get him that old. This dog lived 100% outside his entire first 12.5 years of his life and probably ate the cheapest dog food you could get and was sent to the vet twice from coyote fights - once with guts hanging out. Even survived a bout with heartworm back when there was no treatment.

How he is still alive is anyone's guess. My GF calls him Benjamin Buttons. LOL

I love it!

Bella turns 16 a week from tomorrow. She still sprints around a bit but its for shorter and shorter distances. It's more of a hop now than a run. The walk to the park this weekend was close to a mile round trip so I'm pretty proud of her for managing that.

OCD psycho dog was on the bed last night when I got up for one of my hourly bladder runs. I noticed that his tail was sticking straight up in the air, and he was totally zonked out asleep. Westies put their tails straight up into the air when they are locked onto a critter target. He must have been dreaming that he had a squirrel or something cornered, and was still in the same position with his tail vertical when I came back from the bathroom. First time in 11 years that I saw him do that while sleeping.....

FINALLY got a diagnosis on Bella and her multiple bouts of pneumonia and chronic coughing / sneezing. She has chronic bronchitis and the canine version of COPD. She's nearly 1 week into being on a steroid inhaler twice a day. So far it seems to be helping! her sneezing and coughing is dramatically reduced. Hoping this is the solution we've been looking for to keep her going a bit longer. She seems to tolerate the inhaler pretty well. She fought it the first day but now that she knows it means treats at the end, she's into it.
