Looking mean man!
I'm thinking a few more cycles and I'm going to just maintain. I'm not trying to get huge. If I can get to 150-155 at 10-12% I'll be happy. I mean, shit; most 45 year olds don't look how I do now.

In my younger days I would bulk for the winter and get up around 235-238lbs(I'm 5'7"),could never eat enough to make it past 240lbs no matter how hard I tried. I'd end up vomiting forcing that last meal or shake down, which is just stupid gym-rat shit I did. Then diet come springtime and drop down into the 190's. Can't say I miss it. Clean bulk for me from December-March,typically creep up to 215lbs but ab's are always there.

I enjoy staying in shape year round especially since moving to a beach community. Besides,I'm too old&lazy to gain 50lbs+,and I have nothing to prove at this point in my life. I'd probably have a massive heart attack and drop dead from all the fluid retention if I blew up to 235lbs lol

FWIW,I know when I'm single digit BF by looking in the mirror. When I reach that point when my glutes have clearly visible striations and I have veins popping in my lower abdominals and in my obliques;I'm under 10%.
Used to get pinched w the calipers from several personal trainer friends over the years and we'd joke around and guess what my BF was.
Until this summer that is lol, headed back up to NY for a family event and stopped by my old training partners gym for a quick session. He said you wanna check your BF while you're here? I said, nah I'm good I know Im single digits..He says how are you so sure fatboy?? So I showed him my striated glutes lol. He said and I qoute," I FUCKING HATE YOU GET OUTTA MY GYM AND TAKE YOUR GLUTES WITH YOU!!"

I'm curious on the measurements as well. I honestly have no idea where I fall as a %. Once my legs start striating and having visible veins I'm feeling pretty lean, but even at that point I barely have visible abs haha.

I'm sure you know at least on person that can pinch test you with the calipers, that'd get you pretty close to what your BF is.

From the pic you posted above,I'd guestimate 14-16%

Honestly though,it's just a number. If you're happy w how you look who cares?

Does anyone here have first or secondhand experience with D-Bal or any of these other so-called 'legal steriods'?

thanks guys. I am very fortunate. Front brake failure on my Ducati panigale while on a high speed canyon run. Master cylinder failure. I was lucky the curve it happened had a large soft ditch to slide into vs. a rock wall or cliff.

Adding a Brembo race MC, then repairing the fairings which luckily is the only damage.

I use a body fat caliper mostly. Toward the end of a cut or bulk cycle, I go to the local GNC and get a full body scan.

How often do you work your abs? I work mine daily and can still see the top 4 at the end my bulk cycles. I'm usually single digit before I start bulking and same as those above, can see veins in lowers abs and obliques, shoulders and chest you can see damn near every striation.

Negative. I avoid supplements that aren't protein, creatine or caffeine.

Honestly... almost never in isolation. That's probably my powerlifter background and training coming through, and if abs are what I want ... I should probably try to work that into my training.

I don't. It's holiday season so definitely eating more. We are doing a calorie deficit cut with increased gym time starting in January but until then it's all good. I'm sitting at around 22% right now at 6' and 240lbs. Goal will be ~215-220lbs. About the same weight as when in the Marines 20+ year ago and just staying physically capable for the work needed to do.

Why take 'em? Seriously. Why even bother? Once off them, the vast majority of gains evaporate and you've done significant damage to your body's endocrine system.

Testosterone, sure. If you are deficient, get to around 800-1000 and stick there. That's maintainable. In your 40's and been clean your whole life, sure, do some testosterone and life is better overall. But taking anything beyond Testosterone(limited to natural levels), creatine, protein, and preworkout....nah.

What brand creatine do you use?

Thanks for the input regarding D-bal. I had never heard of 'legal steroids' until this week, figured I'd ask.

Bulk Supplements - https://www.amazon.com/Monohydrate-M...a4dea34d6&th=1

Sorry I don't have more info on them. I just avoid them all. In the beginning I tried fat burners, BCAA's, EAA's, and sorts of other shit. There is no magic powder that serves as a substitute of hard damn work. (excluding anabolic's)

It's all BS.

The only product like the ones advertised above that actually worked back in the day was called Superdrol. 10-20mg a day was all you needed. You could buy it at GNC,Vitamin Shoppe, etc. It was absolutely insane. Basically an oral version of Masteron.

Only issue was that it actually contained a little known DHT derived anabolic called Methyldrostanolone(Methasterone) GNC couldn't keep it on the shelves, people were buying cases of it as soon as it was delivered lol. FDA got wind of it and arrested the owner of the company that marketed and sold it and that was that.

Ahhh,the good ole days!!!

If you want steroid-like gains, you need to take steroids. Go have your bloods done and if your test levels are low enough find a good Endo and get on some TRT. You'd be amazed at the gains one can make on 200mg of T a week

Thanks. How are you estimating 22%?

'cause I used to measure when very overweight and took stock of bodyweight and percentages over the years past to change that. But now...eh I'm good.

Did a composition scan in the military and weighed in at 235lbs at 11% bf. Was pissed cause I wasn't in the single digits lol.

Thanks, I might give this a try. I just got done cycling off of GNC creatine. I've used creatine in the past (I was in my 30s) and thought I'd give it another go here recently. I don't know if it's the brand I used or age or what, but it did absolutely nothing for me this last time around. I am at the gym lifting 80-90 minutes every day, so I'm putting in the work. Other than creatine I'll put myself on organic whey protein from time to time, but that's it. I'm 45 and my metabolism is still working in my favor, so I've never had a need for fat burners. I actually have the opposite problem; if I miss a week at the gym I start to atrophy. I'm aware there's no magic bullet for gains, other than anabolics which are a HUGE, MASSIVE hell no for me. I kinda like my testicles.

Gym day. Continued focus on rehabbing the shoulder.

Spent some time on machines working shoulders, pecs and back to strengthen as many muscles around the shoulder as possible. Then a few slow easy pool laps.

I'm training myself to breathe ambidextrously, because a common cause of "swimmer's shoulder" is breathing on one side which stresses the opposite shoulder in order to balance the body in the water. Ambidextrous breathing shares the load more evenly on both shoulders. So far so good on the training/rehab.
