My dad's the relic from the Dep. Drives me nuts that he learned the value of a wasted piece of fruit. We used to have to pick up all the peaches off the ground in the back yard, then help him meticulously cut the tiny bit of good peach from the rotting rest of it, so we could freeze it in bag for the lean times.

Update: Got her some things she likes for Valentine's Day, including roses (She likes roses). She was very happy and we spent time together.

I still get kisses from time to time, but not much else. She's a great catch, but I can't keep this up forever. If I don't start seeing the possibility of starting a real relationship soon or getting more benefits, I'm going to have to end it. Otherwise, it's just frustrating and I can't keep doing this to myself. I marked my calendar. Lol.

Tell her you know a chick who's father-in-law bought a brand new chainsaw today and cut her hair. That sentence will keep her busy for long enough that she won't be haunting you and if she tries to skip the bj and steaks day, remind her of that again.

This is where you should initiate a conversation with her and explain how you feel. At this point if what you are doing is causing issues for you and she isn't in a place where she can commit, then you should stop. Never put yourself at risk for someone else if it causes you mental instability.

Doc, the difference in his case though is that she likes him but probably has emotional issues and probably needs to take it slow as her ex-husband died. If he truly cares about her and she's awesome in every other way, I think he should give it a few more weeks.

i see where youre coming from, but relationships are a two way street
from what he says he clearly has made moves only to be turned down, i think what he has in mind is completely valid, why should he put in the effort if she's not willing to?

i can only imagine its hard to lose your wife/husband but (even though i dont know how much time passed) i feel like our friend with the m3 also can't make sense of it. call me too young but if this woman has had a husband, and our friend here has done himself well to get an m3 i'd assume they're at least 35-40; time is too valuable to just waste waiting on people

Update: I've started becoming more distant and she's been reaching out more. I'll update again when I practically cut contact.

I'll see if she reaches out in the future after she's had some time to evaluate what she wants. We've had a lot of fun together and it appears she loves my company to the point that she doesn't want me leaving at night, so she might remember me. If she does, I'll tell her that I want something more than a friend. If she doesn't, I wish her the best.

I'm not this heartless guy, but maintaining this friendship is causing me a lot of stress. I have to let go.
