a good weekend project for you.
A microscope slide, some good vision and some small tools should get you where you need to be. I think it is around a few hundred to pay someone to convert it.

I used Kolari Vision for my conversion. They have a camera evaluation service where they will convert a camera for $49 (now $99) that they haven't converted before, and that's the route that I took.
