5 years ago we bought a weather alert radio. I set it to only go off if there is a tornado warning for our county. We get too many tornado watches and I usually know about them before the radio sounds anyway. So tonight we got our first actual tornado warning through the radio, although it was a few seconds behind the same alerts going off on our phones. Happily everything nasty passed to the south of us by a good bit. We only had 20-30 minutes of moderate rain and some rumbling of thunder. Now it's time for a whiskey or two. Or three.

My home lightning sensor arrays, NWS alert smartphone subscriptions, NOAA weather radio, and OCD psycho dog provide multiple layers of alerting for any approaching hazardous weather.....

Nice and sunny here. All the snow melted
It is really windy right now and currently 50 degrees. It's supposed to be in the high 60s this week. Perfect weather to walk and do other outdoor activities. |

Getting into the high 80s now. Good is that we’re into bass spawning season, bad is that this state isn’t known for having many lunkers. Just got into my 30s and I’m starting to get sick of the 5+ months of triple digits and the 7 or so months of 90+F degrees. I gotta move eastward within the next 5 years and get closer to the sea.
