So....yeah. Wall Street "Bets", but with considerably better odds than a normal casino, because you can shift the odds with enough reading. It's like counting cards, but simultaneously easier / harder.

Right, some people are YOLO'ing everything, and as long as those people "Get out" in time they won't eat their pants.

Then you have people who probably read this on Facebook after the stocks were already up 400%, put a ton of money into it and won't sell in time and will get burned. (The bitter internet would like you to believe this is going to be every single small investor because we're all retards).

For me I took a tiny percentage of my IRA (which is up ~115% YoY thanks to ZM, AMZN, TSLA and other more stable stocks/funds) and threw it at this crazy idea because it's based on the available short position data. That money is way up and I could easily cash out my original position and still be up 200% and covered if it plummets to zero, or just recognize even if it implodes it's no different than one of my bigger conservative positions doing worse.

I'm still mad about selling my TSLA too soon. I took a 400% gain and was happy about it and would've been on track for ~2400%. Makes me realize can't win big with paper hands.

I just looked at GME options and everyone is shorting the crap out of this stock. The July puts are ridiculous, even the ones well out of the money. People be crazy!

I think you drastically underestimate how proud people are of loss porn. I’ve seen plenty of 6-7 figure losses posted. Maybe not here on BP but yeah.

TBH I kinda wondered how they got away with "hate speech" for so long. It was satirical but frequent. "Buy the dip ******", "my wife's boyfriend says blah blah blah", "long $ROPE", I mean people straight posted videos drinking their own urine and stuff if they lost a bet.

Tons of noise to sift through but some genuinely good nuggets of knowledge buried underneath it all too. Some actual highly intelligent people, quants, fund managers, industry experts who'd chime in on a given stock / play, all sorts of stuff. And the memes were fantastic, all bullshitting aside.
