I wanted to post on this thread as this is the first thread that pops up for timing chain while doing a search.
I had my timing chain fixed exactly 3 years ago and the dealership said they broke again. Thankfully I had extended warranty so they paid for it |

Hey everyone,
Has anyone had any success after these many years by turning off ASS, changing the oil more often, and allowing the engine to warm up before driving it hard? I like to think the original TC on my 2013 328i xDrive has lasted 100k miles because of this reason. I’m up north, make frequent short trips with the occasional highway run, use 0w30 Castrol Edge Euro (made in Belgium) every 4000 miles, and use 91 octane. |

timing chain issue
Buying a new sport wagon, have 2001 and love it buy after 20+ years and 200k miles it's dying on me.
Still cant' figure out if the timing chain guide is the issue, the tensioner, what year's exactly are affected. Did find the attached which lists models and specific productoin dates but it's just what is covered in the lawsuit. |
