But just to be safe, I'm on my second 700ml bottle of water today.

Yeah big investment but luckily we put it in the summer before Covid so it's been a bit of a lifesaver.

It's hot and humid but at least it's not pushing 100 degrees like last week.

Back in to the 80s here for the first few days of the week. Then it's 90s for the rest of the week. Better than the 100s, though they will be back.

The low here yesterday morning was 50 F (10 C). Highs are forecast to be seasonable to a degree or two below average for the next seven days.....

It was 81 when I woke up at 6:30 this morning. Projected high is 103 today.

Our AC would love a break. So would my electricity bill.

I know what you mean about the electric bill. Ours went up $175 from last month. My wife (who is always cold) was not happy.

Sounds like just the financial data you need to begin building a pool.

I keep our natural gas and electricity bills on the monthly average. Just because you see such big swings. It's much easier to try to make a budget when it stays "relatively" the same.

Then we do stuff like blow $200+ on two meals over the weekend. But that's why we try to keep the rest of our expenses low.

Yeah, this is no longer a mild climate here and our electric bill soars in the summer.

I will also say that I keep the thermostat at 70 all year long.

Sometimes I drop it a degree or two lower. Only time it goes higher is during winter, just because the living room/bedroom have ~20ft ceilings and the dining room is about 13-14.

Those faulted ceilings can make it hard to keep the place cool. My previous house had them.
