BTW, these guys drove a blue BMW 745i in the movie....it had gold wheels.

I vividly recall because my best buddy had a 733i that we used to call the fish and when we saw the movie on video we started calling him Jamaican.

Dude, I'm sorry to say....you lose points for being a human if you've had an XR4Ti. Lol.
Didn't that thing have like a triple decker rear spoiler?

Sciroccos are great. I had a VR6 Jetta III and used to pull 3-wheel turns in it.

My first car. If it had sweet rims and it was today, then I could potentially gain points. Since this was 1986 and it was freshly purchased from my grandparents, I am pretty sure I lose points.

This could've been a Donk.

My parents had the Impala version when I was a kid. I kinda miss the boxy design.

I did spend time in Lakehurst and Tom's River.

Are you kidding?
Double-deck spoiler. I ripped out the injectors and put in higher flow variants, slapped on an intercooler, and routed out the throttle body. Sooooooo much power!! Unfortunately, too much for the press fit drive shaft and after I shredded the 4th one it had to go.

After one particular night of hard-core racing, I parked it on my parents lawn and it killed all of the grass under the car. The turbo and exhaust manifolds glowed bright orange after hard running. I still miss it's rawness.

Oh Yes...three wheel turns. Completely freaked all of my rear-wheel drive competitors out. The scene back then was the euro car drivers vs. the asian car drivers. Same as today.

We used to tell my buddy that his rear spoiler was helpful to push his Exrati around like a shopping cart when it broke down. It broke down a lot.

I remember hearing about people setting grass on fire from hot exhaust. You win dude! That's some expert shit.

It could barely hold idle consistently.

Same process with the sciroccos.
Rip out the spark arrestors, hotter wires, euro injectors, hotter plugs, Ansa exhaust, Neuspeed Throttle bodies.

Blast from the past! Neuspeed. My VW was all Neuspeeded out. Even had a lime green windshield sticker.

See if this jives your VW juices:

- Autotech chip
- Shrick cams
- Shrick variable intake manifold
- Neuspeed strut bar
- Neuspeed short shift kit
- Neuspeed intake
- Remus exhaust with 2 square tips
- H&R springs
- centerforce clutch

That VR6 sounded like a mini 5.0

Hahaha I'm ok as long as their builds don't consist of bags and the most hideous set of wheels I've ever seen.

But on the FB groups I'm in, I'm one more stance bro post away from unfollowing all that shit.

My frat bro had one of the earlier models. The joke back then was, 'Fill it up with oil and check the gas!' It had a swimming pool for a fuel tank and burned a quart of oil every 100 miles.

Which is what I was doing with my vdub too. But if you go on VWVortex, everybody is like "Why do you want to make it faster? Why do you want to track it? It's not a race car." And then if you asked about anything wheels or suspension related all they would say is you need an 18x10 and 18x11 staggered set up (mind you, it's FWD) and you need coilovers that can go hella low or just go straight to bags.

Worst community ever. I'm over it. Time for another BMW daily.

It always BOGGLED my mind as to the wider rear tires in spite of the FWD bias. One of my good buddies is planning on running 10 inch wheels up front, and 11 inch wheels in the rear, on his RS. It is a 12V VR6 MK4 Jetta with an R32 front conversion, and makes less horsepower than my Mini.

And yet, he talks down on people who have "distasteful" mods or run replica wheels. Whatever disease VW owners suffer from, I sure as fuck am glad it never got me.
