We had I think a 68 that was converted into a dune buggy to run around in the desert in New Mexico. Wasn’t street legal so don’t know if that counts.

You're right. My memory is defective on this point. Was it a '53 or am I remembering a split rear window when there was none? I have no evidence either way.

That's okay, Llarry, if you remember the split rear window then maybe you just got the year wrong. Or maybe it was your grandfather who forgot the year and told you it was a '56 in error (old people do that). Either way that split rear window was cool.

My Dads first car was also a bug. HS class of 69. He also really loved that car.

A friend of mine came by the house today to show me his 2019 GT3 RS with the Weissach package. We went for a drive, and he was the one that drove . He said that the next time he comes by, he will drive my car and I will drive his. I can't wait

From 1963 to 1980, Mercedes-Benz manufactured the flagship model 600, known as Der Grosser Mercedes at a price point rivaling Rolls-Royce and other ultra-luxury cars.

The 600 came in both short- and long-wheelbase form and was available as a 4 door or 6 door (LWB only). It was powered by a 6.3-liter V-8 and featured complex hydraulics for many power functions.

Most 600s were the SWB models; LWB models tended to be chauffeur-driven.

The pictured examples are 1971 cars.

Something quite out of the ordinary: A 1913 Twombly Model A Tandem. A two-cylinder engine of 7 horsepower powered the Model A at speeds up to 50 miles per hour. Note that the car seated only two persons in tandem and that it had doors only on the right side. Priced at $350 in 1913. Sort of a four-wheeled motor scooter, I'd say.

'77 FUEL INJECTED Beetle. Not sure if I get to join the club.

I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket, and a guy who will bore me out to a 1776. Just worried that I actually have to SMOG the thing
