Finally finished Queen's Gambit. I'm certain I'm in the minority, but I don't see what was so brilliant about it. It was decent. I wouldn't highly recommend it.

i get this viewpoint to some extent...without giving spoilers, it's basically a "rocky" story arch and there's like a thousand of those released every year. but the acting, character dynamics, script, and cinematography really put queen's gambit on another level.

We finished it last night and enjoyed it, I don't know that I would say it was as good as some others have, but to each their own. We thought it was enjoyable and the comments about the acting, script and cinematography are fair.

After we finished Queens up, we watched the first episode of Undoing.....interesting.

Yes, she is quite outstanding and the best part of episode 1.

Yeah definitely an awkward scene Hopefully they go more in depth with her character, so far for three episodes they've only used her for a plot device.

Started watching Evil on Netflix. I guess it is actually a CBS show(?). Not too bad but my attention span is drifting. I like to give shows several episodes to get going before I punch ou, though.

I hear Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have a TV show out on Amazon so I might that a look.

Yes it’s a network show. My wife likes it but I lost interest about 1/2 way through first season.

Haha my favorite scenes so far are when the guy breaks down crying on the couch and when dude gets robbed getting a refund on his sneakers.

In unrelated news, I think 99% of CBS's shows are steaming turds but I love Mike and Molly. I've been going back and re-watching the episodes, Mike's mom, Vin, Carl, and Carl's grandmother are hilarious!

Oh and I can never say enough about Fargo. Season 1-2 the best, season 3 eh with the disgusting teeth, season 4 has been redeeming itself. It really is an epic movie chopped up into hour shows.

FX makes some REALLY strong programming:
You're the Worst
Atlanta
Nip/Tuck
Dave
Louie

I'll say You're the Worst again. Such a good mix of comedy and serious moments to mix it up.

Nip/Tuck was excellent back in the day. It got a little weird as it went on, but it really set FX up as a channel.

Their American Crime Story anthology series is also excellent. I also watched Mrs America starring Cate Blanchet among a star studded cast with the wife and I have to say it was quite excellent.

Started watching The Liberator on Netflix but turned it off shortly into the 1st episode. I don't mind that it is animated. It's the style of animation that made me turn it off. It's a weird stylized method that I find distracting and doesn't works well for long stretches w/ dialogue.

We just finished "The Queen's Gambit". Neither of us knows much about chess, didn't matter. We loved it.

We went back and rewatched the first episode of "Sherlock", the BBC series with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. I think we may work back through that series again, at least for a while.
