I didn’t want to spoil anything by mentioning the ending but will add my thoughts here. Warning: spoiler alert!!!

I was sad too. I didn’t cry or anything like that (I never do in movies). But that ending hit me harder than I expected. Actually had a little trouble sleeping that night thinking about how sad it was. It was perfect, emotional, good send off, and at the same time the end of an era and love story. I was okay with Daniel Craig as 007 and now I am a big fan (aside from Pierce Brosnan).

As I am immobilised after my skateboard injury, I watched a few older films this weekend. A couple of Hitchcock’s today and on Saturday, a fantastic Roland Joffé film, starring Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons: The Mission.

Beautiful film and superb soundtrack .. highly recommend it, if you haven’t seen it.

Watched The Favourite tonight, very interesting plot, didn't actually realize that a lot of it was based on real people/rumors. Overall really enjoyable, with slight bits of humor here and there, but mainly a period drama, and excellent acting from Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, and Emma Stone.

Saw it Friday with the wife. We both absolutely loved it. End was sad, but I believe it was well done for Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Watched Cruella the other day. At first I didn't like it but it got better. I especially liked the ending. The two Emmas were both good. The little dog Wink was very cute. Read that five dogs played that part. They were all cute. Emma Stone was one of the executive producers. Good for her.

Haven't got the chance to watch the new 007. But the most recent that I watched is Free Guy by Ryan Reynolds. It was kinda fun. Abit ridiculous in some parts, but still a good movie to watch.

If I do have to choose and name one of the movies I like. It would be "Divergent". Throughout the film I kept thinking it was a reinterpretation of "The Hunger Games. A single theme of a handful of people going against centuries of established rules. But at the same time as in the movie "Time" is not fully disclosed theme.

Pumpkinhead

A story of revenge. Reminds me of a good old-fashioned Creepshow episode. With Lance Henriksen.

Saw it many years ago with my kids. We like creepy movies.

Happy Halloween!

Great movies most have never seen.

I’ll contribute with great movies most have never seen.
Some are a little hard to find but they’re largely available.
Title is also IMDB link. In most cases I wouldn’t do to much research and recommend just watching.
Plots are intentionally light as not give too much away.

1st up is one of my personal favorites.

The Killing of a Chinese Bookie (1976)
Written and directed by the great John Cassavetes with an amazing performance by Ben Gazzara.
Plot: A proud strip club owner is forced to come to terms with himself as a man when his gambling addiction gets him in hot water with the mob, who offer him only one alternative.

The Ninth Configuration (1980)
Written and directed by William Peter Blatty. Staring Stacy Keach along with a great cast.
Plot: A former marine arrives at a mental asylum housed in a remote castle to run it. There he attempts to rehabilitate the patients by letting them act out their craziest fantasies and desires.
Fortunately the trailer doesn’t give much away.

Great movie for Halloween
The Devil's Backbone ( 2001)
Written and directed by the master Guillermo del Toro.
Please watch in its native Spanish even if you don’t speak Spanish. Use subtitles it’s a much better experience IMHO.
Plot: After Carlos - a 12-year-old whose father has died in the Spanish Civil War - arrives at an ominous boys' orphanage, he discovers the school is haunted and has many dark secrets which he must uncover.
