The thing I'm really liking in the 'spy shots' is that the G87 appears to be taking on the M4 DNA. . . before the M4 went on steroids.

They got really loads to do to fix the handling of that car. I have never driven anything as bad as the M2 in a long time. I think the big wobbly M5 handled better.

Impossible. Would be a G88 or something then Sorry couldn't resist, but yes agree a mini Gran Coupe M2 would be lovely.

Great pics cheers Jason it's great to see what already looks like the M seats on show here. A shrunken coupe thats a little bit longer in wheelbase than the F22 and F87 and will be coming in 240i and M2 variant, very nice.

My purchase is an absolute certainty, just how many cars would I dare change between now and then.

G87 countdown begins today.
Who's with me ?

Looking promising so far. Kind of wish they'd try to differentiate the interiors more, looks like a carbon copy of every single new BMW that's come out.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Liking what I see more and more . . . and the S58 is not even visible.

A few observations . . .

1. The rear end has clearly been taken from ‘square’ to ‘rounded’ across the trunk line.

2. Unlike shown in renders presented to date, the rear taillights are not incorporated into trunk line (e.g., as with the F87).

3. The gas cover now appears ‘square’ as opposed to ‘round’ in the F87, and door handles are inset with door panel. Nothing to write home about.

4. Seems there will clearly be some vertical side vents behind the front wheels. Covered in the pics and, no doubt, non-functional.

5. The side running panels appear much more pronounced/aggressive compared the F87.

6. Difficult to state with certainty but appears that have taken the ‘blunted’ F87 rear quarter (behind the C pillar) and ‘stretched’ it out. If so, the ONE thing I dislike the about the F87 will be significantly improved upon.

7. Front end looks a little vanilla in spy pics, BUT it seems clear the front grille atrocity that appears on the G80/G82 will not be inherited. I anticipate the ‘vanilla’ will be quickly become more menacing with removal of the camouflage and some tweaks in the G87 M2/M2C.

8. I think it was previously established HUD is coming and it appear ACC is also on the horizon. Dig the former, but ambivalent about the latter.

9. Overall, looking more and more like the G87 M2 will be the new M4. The M4 enthusiasts want instead of what they are getting with the oversized and overdesigned G82. Wishful thinking, but it would be great if the G87 M2 could shed a couple hundred pounds over the F87.

Seems to have the "normal" BMW interior. Rear tail lights look a little funky.

Taillights look to be similar to those of the previous leak. In the new and old spy shots the LED outline is visible, I believe the influence comes from the Vision M Next. Not a fan so far, but will wait for full high quality photos.

Looks like it's going to be a nimble and very capable vehicle but BMW interiors have become virtually indistinguishable.

By my eye, I do not believe the taillights resemble the cargo elevator pics . . . the lights do not extend into the trunk line (as seen in the cargo elevator).

Also, I thought it was established that the cargo elevator were of a 1 series, not 2 series?

No one knows yet, to me it looks more coupe like and I believe it is a clay model. Maybe the tail lights have changed but the front looks to match the new frame photos that came out yesterday. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The body lines of the new 2er looks fantastic! however the front end does not seem as nice as I would have hoped.

Seems very similar to the new z4 design for the headlight positioning.

6. is the epic bit, its proportions looks REALLY promising.
8. 100% you can see the HUD cut out from the dash cowel in a few shots, nothing news here as we know.

These pics are of the regular 2 series,G42,not the new M2,G87.So it isn’t a surprise that this car has the same square designed gas cap as the current 2 series.

I really like the proportions on this new 2 series.Looks very sporty and has very little wheel gap.

If you look at the outline of the hood in these pics, the design looks exactly the same as the car shown in the elevator. My guess is that car is probably the new 2 series.
