Just got Samsung 7000 series 50" plasma, and it rocks my world.
It's thin as LED tv, (1.25") and it features 3D technology as well.
On top of that, I've got a samsung blueray player and pair of 3d glasses for free! all for $1600 as a promotion package.
Just picked up a Panasonic 46" G25 on Monday. Absolutely love it! As soon as I turned it on, I didn't regret my decision. Running the break-in slides b/w when I'm not watching tv.

Plus standard-def channels look better than any LCD I've ever seen.

I'm thinking about returning mine but if this happens with all LEDs then I guess I'm going LCD
When I was researching and deciding b/w LED-LCD's and Plasma, "flashlighting" was one of the issues I read on LED-LCD's. It sounds like that's what you're seeing.

If you can, look for Pioneer Kuro Elites. You'll have to find them on the used market, but still the best out there, especially if they have been properly calibrated by a real ISF technician, not that bestbuy calibration BS. Next would be the VT series from Panasonic, it's a 3D Plasma, but even then, has been winning the most awards (2D & 3D performance) since it's release earlier this year.

Who do you know in socal near burbank that does proper calibration of 3D LED TV's? Best buy wants too much to do it and I know they wont do it right.

it's not flashlighting it more like auto-dimming. I've been trying to turn it off (the newer sets dont have an option to turn it off) but someone posted how to do it in the service menu. Just gotta figure out how to get there.

I recently got a new place and bough a 55" Samsung, the 6800 series to be more specific.

I'm really happy I went with it.

My bro-in-law has a comperable Sony and it is WAYYYYYY behind in picture quality and technology.

Hate to break it to you, but you're going to pay as much if not more for a professional calibrator.
