What upgrades has AT&T given you for iPhone?
Hi all, hope everyone is well.
I just wanted to know what kind of upgrades or money off people are getting from AT&T for the new iPhone, or just a new iPhone (3 or 3g s) in general? I called AT&T because our phones are basically on their last leg, and they said $50 off for the iPhone 4. We have had our phones for over 2 years. $50 is with signing new contract. Anyone getting anything better? Worse? Thanks!

Did I read that incorrectly, or did they offer you a new iPhone 4 with $50 discount without needing to sign a new contract?

Gotta sign a new contract. My wife is the one who called and I just asked her. She said she could barely understand the ATT lady so she hung up.

I dont know how things work down there but if youre a good customer you can threaten to go to a competitor. They usually respond with a "retention" person, who will bend over a bit to keep you as a customer.
Call some competitors and tell them that youre thinking of jumping ship. See what they offer you. Good luck. |

It all depends if you as a customer make or lose money for AT&T. If you beat the crap out of their network, they won't try to keep you. If you barely use the network and make them big profits, then they'll try to keep you.

We have the 3g, one 16 and one 8.
I think we're pretty good customers as far as how much we spend, have 4 phones with them 2 with unlimited data etc, the other two are just basic. But we do use the hell out of the phones. I'll try the retention thing, thanks! Anyone else get a better offer?

When you say "$50 off", is that $50 off the 2 year contract price for an iPhone 4 ($299 for the 32GB), making it $250? I'd say that is pretty good. Now, if they are only offering you $50 off the non-contract price ($699), and have to sign a contract, then that sucks.
Or are they offering you $50 for your current iPhones as trade-in value (which is a really crappy offer)?
