LED Tailight Recommendation for E39

Do any of you guys have good experiences with replacing your conventional-bulb taillights with the LED type systems that would be compatible with a circa 99's system (ie; doesn't throw codes).

I have been able to replace the fronts with Angel Eyes and I have had no problems, however my dealer was reluctant to mess with the rear.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

there is a special "ballast" module that is used to retrofit the taillights onto pre-01 e39's. also, the tailights have a slightly different fit. fact: if you attempt to fit factory tails off of a 01-03 e39 onto a 97-00 e39, you will find water in your trunk after a rainstorm. they do not fit perfectly onto the older body style. spend the extra money and go for the Hella retro fit kit made specifically for your model year.
