My School Video Contest Entries - Comments/Criticism Please!
This is the first time I've ever put up my work for comments/criticism; it's also the second time I've ever posted up my work -- the first being my BMFeast video (found in my sig).
My school (St. John's University) recently hosted an online video contest which required contestants to portray the university values of "opportunity," "truth," "respect," "love," "excellence," and "service." I made these two videos with hopes of obliterating the competition, as well as embarrassing the film majors (since I'm a business major) -- I won first place, lol. All shots were filmed with a Canon XH-A1 and Letus Extreme with Canon 28mm and 50mm FD lenses. The audio was recorded directly into the camera with a Rode NTG-2 mic. Footage was edited in Final Cut Pro. The first video titled "Who We Are" won first place. The song is "Lisztomania" by Phoenix, with all proper licensing and releases acquired. The second video titled "My St. John's" did not place. It was made with the blooper footage from the first video, and the song is an original composition. Comments and criticism welcome -- please let me know what you think! Note: Both videos are available to view in HD "Who We Are:" () [u2b]<object width="1280" height="745"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0e94bWI6yno&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0e94bWI6yno&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="1280" height="745"></embed></object>[/u2b] "My St. John's:" () [u2b]<object width="1280" height="745"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8w25hL2SYCc&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8w25hL2SYCc&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="1280" height="745"></embed></object>[/u2b] Thanks! |

Thanks everyone

Let me see if I can still dig up the file. I just googled "film burn effect" or "film burn clip" - or something like that - and laid the track over my original one with some kind of additive overlay, or something. Sorry, wish I could be more specific! |
