Report - 6 series owners
Ok - so I'm very obsessed with the 6 and have been since living in Germany fall 2006 to fall 2007 and again fall 2008 to fall 2009
It's my quest to have 1 some day; the sooner the better - but not at the expense of my 1er - she is a keeper I have been thinking about the next step with my 1er and will add the stage 2 in a week or so. The standard 650 has 360hp - I can't see going from my 135 384hp 400+tq stage2 to the standard 650 - I'm sure it will feel boat like So I guess I will bear the burden and get the M6 I have been watching prices and they are running 50/60 - lots of cash I know - but I can dream - oh and that is for 06/07 1st requirement it has to be a cabriolet - this I won't compromise on - LOVE the look of that roof line as it moves to rear of the car. Anyone have the 6 - what are your thoughts on the car ? I can't seem to find a 6er forum and lurk - ha Here is a nice M6 - http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national local coupe with Dinan additions http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national

The 6 is definitely more of a laid back GT crusier. My father had one for quite a while. It was an enjoyable car to drive but it wasn't involving at all. It was like BMW's version of a Mercedes if that makes any sense. Its great at going long distances, its powerful, and smooth.
FWIW he traded it in for an E93 M3 because he felt the 6 was too boring for him. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. |

I have an M6 vert. It is more of a cruiser absolutely. The SMG is okay too, you have to pay attention and shift about 1k rpms early or it will sometimes over rev.
I have never driven a 135 but I would imagine they are completely different cars. The M6 is probably not my highest choice for the sporty car on the weekends. It does have good steering though, remember it still is a BMW and the feedback is precisely BMW. I still would pick the M3 over it.
