Aperture 3!

I love Aperture. Even more so than Lightroom. Version 3 is out! Finally has some of the new features that were introduced to iPhoto last year.

I recently completed the trial version of Aperture 2 - so I'm glad I waited. Seems like it has some pretty cool new features.

No, it's more like a mac version of lightroom.

I used to use aperture 2, I was so much happier before I switched over to lightroom.

Aperture is awesome! I've been using it for the past 2 years now... can't wait to get v3 later this spring.

I was happy using Aperture 2 before updating to Snow Leopard and it quit working. Switched to Lightroom 2 and have been extremely happy with it but this new Aperture has some nice features that Lightroom 2 and even LR 3 beta do not have. Downloaded the trial but have been neglecting my camera too much to use it.

How many people have it and what do you like the most between Aperture 2 to Aperture 3?

The biggest difference is the new paint brush. You can now nondestructively paint effects into your photos. The UI has been cleaned up a bit so it's more user friendly. They also added all the stuff from iPhoto (faces, places, upload to flickr/facebook).

I've been wanting the iPhoto capabilities in Aperture for awhile now.

So would you say that the paint brush in Aperture 3 is as good as it is in Lightroom 2? Because I was amazed at how well the brush and other editing tools were in Lightroom over that of Aperture 2. They really blew Aperture 2 out of the water.

Well in its defense, Aperture never had any brush editing until now. I can't compare as I don't use Lightroom. I try to use as little Adobe products as possible these days.

Can Aperture 3 do Masks? and Gradients? I'm glad presets are finally added. LR2 might not be as "polished" in terms of the UI but what you can do with it is amazing. LR3 coming soon!

I don't think I could go back to Aperture after seeing what LR can do
