Pete Souza - Official White House Photographer
He's no David Hobby, but a damn good photojournalist, following Obama around all day snapping away at anything interesting he sees.
Who wouldn't want to wake up every morning knowing your job is to take photos of President Obama with your 5D Mk2? If you haven't seen his photostream yet, I suggest you take a look now! http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse/ Some examples of his work... |

how are his pictures so sharp? Is it the lens? The camera? The settings? I crave for that level of sharpness but I guess my XSi and lenses aren't the great..

The sharpness is partly due to the downsized image, but also because of the camera/lens combo he uses. Most of the time he's either shooting with the 24-70mm f/2.8L or 135mm f/2L, both of which are very tack sharp lenses, not to mention the camera he uses: the 5D Mk2.

I'm not saying he isn't a good pro photographer, but the white house naturally has really good lighting. It makes his job so much easier.
