if that's the case...then McLaren and Ferrari should be considering a few months ago as well.... i doubt it since they already invested so much in the team and Hinwill, Switzerland facility....

Ok, onto speculation time...
Last week @ the Hungarian GP, Dr. Mario said that the collective "we" would find out what's happening with the ongoing negotiations between FIA/FOM and FOTA within a week. Prior to today's announcement of this press conference, BMW has always been very good at communicating that they are in F1 for the long haul. This gets me to thinking that possibly there is something else afoot. Have the FOTA teams decided on a breakaway series ? Have BMW decided to start their own Open-Wheel racing series for the US? Hmmm....makes me why-why-why-why-wonder...

Given that their performance continues to get worse with each race I suspect they have yanked funding from the project.

Looks official, here is another article...wonder who is next...i think renault.. So there is another open spot on the grid for 2010, Prodrive and Lola chance just got a little better not to mention two very talented drivers who need cars if this happens for sure. Booo - That sucks.
I read the Kubica may go to Ferrari to replace Massa and Heidfeld may be scrambling for a seat next year. (I hope Brawn takes him) While I'm livin the dream, Maybe BMW will still be an engine supplier?
