Because there are no copyright restrictions.

And your 360 is not technically outputting 1080p, because no Xbox360 games support 1080p (only 1080i and 720p). So your TV upscales ('stretches') the image to 1080p. You would hardly notice a difference between the two, because you aren't viewing a native 1080p signal. Your TV is more or less "pretending" to output 1080p.

Doesnt matter, component can and does run 1080p; youre arguing about the source being allowed to output. I have multiple devices that will provide a 1080p source.

Yes, you are correct, component is capable of providing 1080p (if your specific TV accepts a 1080p signal through component) That's not what I was saying. I'm not even sure what you are trying to say here honestly.. ?

I sold my xbox360 a long time ago, so I have not been keeping up with the games that now support native 1080p. There used to be none, then there were like 2, now there might be more. But not all games .
support native 1080p.

EDIT: I think I stand corrected. Certain games say that they support 1080p, which means that it has the ability to be upscaled to 1080p, if your TV is 1080p capable. So you aren't seeing true 1080p, as I said before. It wouldn't make too much of a difference anyway, unless you are standing pretty close to a large TV.

i got a 46" panny plasma 1080p for $950 around christmas. i would definitely tell you to go with a plasma. there so much better than lcd. if you plan on watching sports or action movies or playing games i would definitely stay away from an lcd tv.

no matter what anyone says plasma is still better than lcd. unless your concerned about glare. the motion lag on lcd's is ridiculous. if you had the money i would say go LED cause they look sick but you dont.

+1 on stretching your budget for plasma. Even some of the best LCD's still have issues with blacks and/or greyscale, as mentioned above.

Also, just my personal opinion, but if you're going 42" or larger, I would definitely recommend 1080p (if you have a device that outputs 1080p to the TV of course).
