BMW cars topped the timesheet in the first practice session on a wet Brno track. Andy Priaulx clocked the fastest time of 2:20.988 with three minutes remaining. In the next minute Alessandro Zanardi achieved the second best time of 2:21.135 despite spinning at turn nine earlier in the session. Augusto Farfus was third fastest with a 2:21.365

Second practive:
The field was again dominated by BMW. On a rapidly drying track, Augusto Farfus set the best time of 2:10.994 followed by Andy Priaulx, 0.165 of a second slower. Jörg Müller was third fastest (2:11.581) while Independent driver Félix Porteiro set an impressive 2:12.387 to be placed fourth overall.

BMW cars will occupy the front row for tomorrow’s Race 1 as Augusto Farfus claimed first and Andy Priaulx second. With a time of 2:09.590 the Brazilian took his third pole position of the season. Alessandro Zanardi secured third place ahead of Chevrolet’s Nicola Larini. Rickard Rydell and Gabriele Tarquini were the only SEAT drivers to enter Q2 and they will line up fifth and sixth on the grid.

Sunday morning worm up again dominated by BMW with Farfus fastest (2:10.536)
Farfus is trailing Yvan Muller by 3 points and can take the lead of the championship.

Farfus’ ruined his chance to lead the championship after he veered left at the start and collected Andy Priaulx, Robert Huff, Nicola Larini and Jordi Gené on his way to the gravel trap.
Alessandro Zanardi took victory, for the second consecutive year in Brno, in an event-filled first race. Starting from third on the grid, the Italian managed to avoid a massive accident involving some of his BMW fellow drivers at the start.
