Any fellow boaters around?

When I'm not washing my 325, you can usually catch me out in the Bay fishing!

Just curious to see if there are any fellows boaters or fisherman in here?

Used to sail with my dad all the time. Then he sold that and bought a fresh-water Bayliner and we started skiing and parasailing. Takes so much to keep an inboard engine up and running, and I always seemed to be the one doing it. Don't think the engine has been run in 2 summers now.
We do a fair amount of fishing, just started fly for Father's day. Dad and all four boys went to Canada last October and caught sturgeon. I got the big one at 6'6"!!! My brother got the picture printed on canvas for my birthday.

Nice boat, the boat I want cost big $$$$$ so for now I just stick to land. Plus I really want to buy my next house on the water and then get the boat if there is any money left.

Great looking walk around you have. I had a Trophy 2002 but sold it prior to leaving for an overseas assignment. Hope to get back into the boating business once gas prices settle down a little.

Also grew up sailing on the Chesepeake, what a great place to enjoy the boating and fishing.

Ever come up to any of the lakes here in PA? There's one about a half hour away from where I live big enough for boating, but it's been closed all summer due to some kind of mercury contamination

thanks! I've never made it up to PA in this boat, but i have been fishing on a few lakes there. I usually stick to saltwater, but you really can't beat fishing for some trout in fresh water!

You should definitely get back into boating...there's nothing like it! And you are especially right about the Chesapeake, it's such a great place for everything water related.

Where did you sail on the Chesapeake in particular?

Nice, what is that a 21'.? Perfect size, manageable.. I have a 2004 Four Winns 288 Vista. Very expensive to keep in the water. I do like it but with my back surgery this year have only put about 6-8 hours on it. My wife and I bought a place on Cape Cod this year and are considering selling the big boat and buying a center console. That way I could trailer it back and forth and have a boat where I want it..

It's actually a 23'. But its surprisingly large in the cabin--it has over six feet of headroom! And I know what you mean about the expense--it's very expensive to keep it in the water, but I think it's worth it for convenience purposes.

I had a 17' CC before this boat and absolutely LOVED it. If I still had the ability to trailer it (which I'm not doing with my 325!!) I would certainly have a center console. Four Winns are great boats as well. If you do look into CC's take a look at Triumphboats.com, great boats that are about as maintenance free as possible. A 21' with a Yamaha 4 stroke will push that baby along!
