Got into the wrong 3 today!
Was walking out of the deli today thinking about too many things. I noticed two 528's parked next to eachother on the left, and then straight in front of me was my 3. So I opened the door, got in and smelled the stench of smoke and noticed butts ON THE FLOOR. But I am not a smoker, but this was my car because the interior is tan, but this is the only GreenThree in the lot! I immediately feel like the seat is too far back (out of my normal driving position). And step out of the car. I am freaking out. Wait a second, the car is black! This is not my 3!
MY car was one over to the right. Thats what you get for zoning out on a Thursday afternoon. Not sure if this has ever happened to anyone, but it has to be one of the weirdest feelings! Read: This car is much too common. 4 BMW's out of 8 possible parking spots!

Did the same thing at Frys Electronics a few weeks back. I parked way out and when I came back to my car - my comfort access wouldn't let me in. I thought that was weird so I kept moving my pocket closer and closer and then finally broke out the key. Key wouldn't let me in either. I then look up and said 'man what the fuck' - as I looked up I see my car parked right next to this one.
Same color, same everything - argh! I left a note on the guys window but never heard anything. ________ SXV550 ________ Mazda Millenia picture ________ Volcano Classic Last edited by stimpy; 02-18-2011 at 05:58 AM.. |

got 2 related stories for you... neither of them involve me mistaking a car.
1: i drive up to the school parking lot to pick up my gf. i am double parked between an old volvo station wagon and another e92 (i think it was space gray 328i, mine is sparkling graphite 335i - not that my gf can tell the difference). my gf walks up to the other e92, grabs the door handle, opens the door, takes one step into the car before realizing it was the wrong car. i watched the whole thing from my rear view mirror and didnt bother to honk the horn or anything. it was funny. 2: if you think 3ers are way too common... after leaving a club with a buddy of mine (who is completely wasted at this point), i drive him home. on the way home, he starts craving for a cigarette but he doesnt have any on him and i dont smoke. so he instructs me to drive him to his car (which is parked outside of his house) so he can retrieve a pack that he has in the glove. we get to a gray 2006 honda accord sedan. he tries to unlock his car with his remote with no luck. then he tries the key, again with no luck. getting frustrated, he starts kicking the tires. then the alarm goes off. this is when he realized that his car doesnt have any alarms installed. we found his car about 12 parking spots back. both cars look exactly the same. so he got his cigarettes and went to bed with the alarm still ringing from the other accord. |

The car was left unlocked because no one in this town in this area would steal a car or anything out of a car. Although I never leave my car unlocked. Not even if I am just running into the store for a second.
I pointed my key fob at the black BMW, and thought it unlocked it, opened the door, and then freaked out. After I stepped out of the car, I was like - the fob works on other BMW's? NO WAY. So I pointed it at the black 3 again, and of course no door lock.
