It turns out that this explorer last week was playing hockey with a group of other explorers on the frozen waters that had collected in the basement of the building. None of the men called the police, the explorer said. They, in fact, continued their hockey game

Yes, grew up in the suburbs, worked/lived downtown after college. Not the best city by far; but it has character and pride. Neither of which Phoenix has.

Damn ...Ms. Mandy. Are you on a mission to dig all depressing news pieces to post here? First, it was the dumb Japanese guy who did not believe in banks and now this?

Oops! ..I just realized that I might have started this trend with my "Traffic fatality" post yesterday

Not the best city, but is it as bad as the article depicted it to be?

Tondtar, what can I say, work's stupid slow today.

No it's not. Sure like any big city there are bad parts, you just have to be smart. But I've never had a problem and I began going downtown for shows when I was 14.

As for the lack of concern from those that knew of the body.
What do they expect the homeless to do? They don't have phones/money/food... they're just trying to survive. The guy's obviously dead - not much they can do. The people that found the body; well, you read how quickly the reporter's call was responded to.

I see. By the article, it made the city to keep away from. Funny how some things can be worded.

You made a valid point, but there had to be someone the homeless people can tell...then again, I guess who would really believe them?

Yeah, people (myself included) tend to ignore and tune-out the homeless. I can't imagine they'd expect anyone to listen to them about this.
