That's no surprise to me, his talent had ran out long time ago. I sure won't miss him next year.
A lot of notable road racers are joining Nascar nowadays. I don't think they actually like it, but it's undeniable that there's a lot of money and "glamor" involved in Nascar. They can probably get paid better than being a GT or touring driver. |

I remember watching the Wind Tunnel, and one guy called in and said the only reason he watches Nascar is for the crashes. It kind of shows you exactly what kind of people actually enjoy watching that kind of stuff.

speaking of nascar i remember seeing an episode of test-drive (AMG) where the host was asking the MB driver of what he thinks about NASCAR. the expression of the driver was funny. it kinda translates to "uhmmm... i dont like driving around in circles."

Nascar fans have the lowest form of education ---> equivalent of a 10th grade education.
2nd place: Wrestling fans.......... wheeewwwww......I'm glad I'm not a Nascar fan.......... p.s. Football fans have the highest form of education * A study done by JD Power and Associates....I think.

I personally like NASCAR (as I do other forms of racing). You have to understand its a different kind of racing with different challenges. |

See my thread in the off topic re F1.
I'm saddened by the news that Montoya is leaving F1. HE was one of the more interesting driver's to watch and never backed down from anyone. Remember his pass on Michael in Brazil? Wheel to Wheel racing is a rarity in F1 and Montoya was the true star of it. Too bad for F1. Good for Nascar, I predict he'll do pretty well there... My largest complaint about Nascar is probably why they get so much attention- the officials bunch up the cars at any opportunity to get more wheel to wheel racing, causing crashes, etc... There's opportunities for the lead car to lose the'r lead, for a poor qualifyier to make up time due to the "multiple bunching" of the field F1, other than the start and the occasional pass, is on the other range of the spectrum - very little wheel to wheel, but the time sheets are eveything. The fastest consistent timesheet is the winner 99% of the time. Unless there is a major accident on the track with the Safety car, the "bunching" nevery happens.
