Jaguar has had terrible leadership since Ford divested them. They ignored the move to SUVs until they were all but irrelevant. Then the biggest SUV they sold was the F Pace, which was X3 sized and a compact, from the "big luxury car" brand. They let XJ and XF die on the vine. E and F pace became the "bad credit ok" options in their segment. XE was just a failure all around.

At this point, closing Jaguar is a mercy killing.
Ford kept the Weekend-at-Bernie's car company afoat, Jag should have died long ago before FoMoCo bought it in 1989.

Imagine being the type of person who celebrates the failure of a car brand.

But yeah...sucks for Jaguar. The only one I've had is the F-Type SVR, and I absolutely love it. It has kept its spot in the garage while I've shuffled through a dozen or so other cars.

It's basically a Hellcat that I can drive in my neighborhood without getting pulled over. The interior, build quality, and driving dynamics are nothing special...but it makes silly noises and goes fast when you mash the pedal. Sometimes that's all you want. And it's one of the best looking cars ever made.

Sad to see another big cat enter "critically endangered" status on the endangered species list.

Jag really doesn't have any redeeming qualities...their interiors are just alright, exterior designs are generic, I'm sure they drive just fine but nothing memorable, brand image and reputation isn't anything noteworthy either. I really don't think millennials or especially Gen Z have any emotional attachment toward the brand.

Not sure that going all-EV in a market leaning toward hybridization will pan out. Luxury EVs already have bad depreciation and high discounts, there's no reason Jaguar's offerings will be any different.

I really don't see Jaguar, Alfa, or Infiniti being for long in the NA market. Maserati got a lot of investment recently and have really upped their interior game, but their newest products are still not moving and continue to suffer from poor quality and depreciation.

That definitely doesn't appear to be related to the car brand.

What in the hell did I just watch. This is worse than when BMW went steam punk with their M3/M4 advertisements... at least those tragic ads still featured cars.

Haven’t been this excited about a brand since 1994 when the softer side of Sears debuted.

I can just see the marketing team congrating themselves on "how much buzz they created" and "people are talking", without realizing the talking that is happening is all laughing at them or just saying their marketing was garbage.
