Wait. You can’t touch the mandates being eliminated, but no problem talking about EV mandates for 400 pages?
Anyways I’ve been saying there’s no way all new vehicles would be EV by 2030 from the start. At least not in the US. |

Top Gun style. Pull handle between the legs and windows pop out. Minus the ejection seats
All will be well until your kids or dog gets too curious Man dies while washing car. Hit by jettisoned window after kids play with ejection system. Or. Just keep using mechanical handles

The entire auto industry would collapse before that would happen, because people will just stop buying cars. That's basically what's been happening in Europe already. Too expensive, not enough range, can't tow more than 100 miles, what if the grid goes down, etc.

If I want drama, i'll hop in the G87 with the mid-pipe and J pipe and intake and whatever, but around town in shit conditions, you can't beat a hybrid or EV SUV.

From a HISTORICAL perspective EV, were politically mandated into existence. This fact is easily proved and validated by review of both California and Federal legislation and Agency-level regulations. It's a great topic, but ironically, verboten in car forums. Last edited by Efthreeoh; Yesterday at 04:43 PM.. |

Two choices beckon, a PI hybrid or just plain gas, too many buy/lease a full EV too quickly, possibly non car people that believe the tv ads or what they read in dubious articles and then when the truth dawns want to get rid of it either taking a big loss or just can't sell it at all. |

A fun watch; Hagerty is still the benchmark for car/YouTube cinematography for me. Would still take the G8X every day of the week, but this makes it a bit more clear why some of my //M/AMG friends were suddenly cross-shopping and test driving the refreshed Model 3 Perf.

I think the question is the motive behind it - seems like Elon maybe pushed for it as it benefits Tesla by harming its competitors (since Tesla has more margin to play with to absorb a loss in tax credit as opposed to other automakers).
